DROP SACHIN TENDUL KAR
by ALLADI on Feb 19, 2012 04:17 PM

Is there any body who will tell Sachin must be dropped now ? They will tell Laxman must be dropped, Rahul should take retirement but not Sachin. Sachin will take another 100 matches to complete his 100th centuries. Till that time he will continue. long live sachin tendulkar

Rotation?
by Ramdas Nayak on Feb 18, 2012 10:26 AM  | Hide replies

When Sehwag and Sachin both are off form what is the point in rotating them. Instead drop both of them and bring younger players like Manoj Tiwary in to playing eleven. However the pace bowlers should be rotated to keep them fresh as there is not much difference between them. Let us go by form and age not by name and fame.

extremely useful comment esp for fast bowlers who needs rotation for keeping them fit..the same logic is also APPLICABLE to spin bowlers too..we sufficient spin bowlers who can be rotated. this will ensure all of them get a chace to represent the country

I agree about rotating spinners. Not only this keep them fresh but also opposition will not be used to the particular bowler's spin as exposure would be limited.

How about replacement policy as well
by Rajesh Gupta on Feb 18, 2012 10:13 AM  | Hide replies

OK. Rotation policy may be good. But how about replacement? When will Saurabh Tiwary get a chance in place of Sehwag or Rohit Sharma? Selection of Irfan Pathan is a positive and welcome step.

by cool dude on Feb 18, 2012 03:10 AM  | Hide replies

As an indian fan, i am so glad ponting is still around. He is bad omen for australia, only warne mcgrath and gilly could reverse his bad influence.
As soon sa he becomes captain look what happened, sri lanka got a bonus point. I hope australia make him captain one more time

This time it may back-fire. Clarke is still injured and Ponting may continue as captain against India and he has a very good record against India !

Dhoni, the best finisher of the game for India.... I mean it!
by K Ram on Feb 17, 2012 10:22 PM

As someone has put up somewhere in a blog, Mr. MSD would have dragged even this match until 50th over had it happened Vs India to prove he's the best finisher. How else can one justify his running out Gambhir who looked good for a century and making a mess of such an easy equation like making 59 runs of 58 balls with good amount of back up yet available. He was content remaining not out for the sake of bettering his batting average and expecting poor tail enders to accomplish the task and perish in the process. Utter selfishness to the core... Mr. Dhoni is better advised to realise, cricket is a team game and is not an individual show off event. To cap it all, he was rewarded with a man of the match for what he has done for himself (and, not for the team)

Dump and discard non performers....
by K Ram on Feb 17, 2012 09:59 PM  | Hide replies

Waste Fellows in this team whose poor performance is covered up under some better performance of others :
1. Ravi Jadeja : 58 runsfrom 4 matches at an average of 19 and 1 wkt @ 190 runs with an economy of 6 R.P.O
2. S.K. Raina : 74 runs @ 18.5
3. R.G. Sharma : 79 runs from 4 matches @ 19 runs average
4. V. Sehwag : 30 from 2 @ 15
5. SRT : 65 from 3 @ 21.6
6. Praveen Kumar : No wickets yet

Why are we still playing these people in spite of their repeated failures? Haven't we learnt any lesson from the test matches? What are we doing with the Tiwary's, Rahanes and Pathans? Wake up selectors and the team management! Dump and discard the non performers please....

I fully agree with you Ram Ji. Pathan is already in the playing 11. Tiwary is most deserving, having hit a century last time around. Rahane as been given chances, but not able to perform according to his potential. They shud hv tried Uthappa as an opener.

What you have missed is the runs saved by the first three players mentioned. All the three are fantastic fielders and many senior cricketers even felt Jadeja as best in the world at present in his fielding position.I am sure India won their last two matches only by restricting the opposition in final overs due to excellent fielding. In ODIs fielding is equally important as batting and bowling. You field Dravid, Laxman and Zaheer in their position I am sure opposition would score 400 plus runs in each match. In the case of Praveen I agree that he is not useful abroad and must be replaced by Varun Aron when the latter becomes fit to bowl.
