Dhoni was, actually, the reason for 2 run-out(GAMBHIR & I.PATHAN). He did the same mistake of calling pathan, when the ball is with the bowler. Pathan after striking the 6 in the no ball was runout in the very next ball. It doesn't establish the much sought "CALM n COMPOSTURE" DHONI.
if some one can answer me please ----- DHONI is capable of batting But in the test series ,he just walked in and walked out of the crease ,giving an easy catch
It looked very suspicious ,only two recent ODIs ,since whole country is watching and there is lots of scrutiny ,DHONI played
so question is Why did DHONI get out so meekly in the test series against Australia ,I have not seen any effort to build a score nor partnership
Everyone is focussed on senior batsmen form and lots of comments about Dravid ,Laxman and Tendulkar
I have serious doubts what happened to DHONIs batting in the test series ?
is DHONI only playing ODIs and not tests ?
or is something funny going on while we are all talking about senior Indian bastmen ?
Let us be honest.. if we make a list of twenty greatest test and one-day inning since 89, will any of SRT's knocks make the list..
Innings that we watched in awe/wonder. changed the course of a match .under diffcult cicumstances, against a quality attack , stakes high and , matchwinning one..

Surely, why not (and I am not a fan of any 1 cricketer)? Since u hate him u wont like to accept that. But there are genuine cricket lovers who would definitely love to watch some of his greatest innings.
116 at Melbourne against Australia in 1999 when Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee, Damien Fleming and Shane Warne tormented the batsmen.
111 at Johannesburg vs South Africa 1992-93: FYI, no other batsman could make even 25 runs except Sachin
136 at Chennai vs Pakistan 1998 When he came to bat, India were 6-2 chasing 272 for a win, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Saqlain Mushtaq were bowling. Facing an attack of that quality, Sachin had stayed at the wicket for all the 251 runs that were scored.
98 vs Pak, Centurion, 2003: With the start he and Sehwag gave, it was impossible for India to lose the match against Pak, that too in a WC chasing 273!
143 & 134, Sharjah 1998: No need to tell this
175 vs Aus, Hyderabad 2009: Same here, Aus scored 350. Sachin scored 175, apart from him & Raina nobody played so well.
There are many such innings. But u haters wont acknowledge it.

likewise , rediff has mentioned the five inninings. but nobody says & rightly so that dhono is G---0---D of cricket , the greatest. if dhoni had been given the break @ the age of 16 , he would have surpassed the plaster by now.

aghast pseudo , rather u lick the 8alls of present aussie bowlers to go easy on ur master plaster.

that is an illogical comment coming from a fanatic. How can anyone be the "G0D" of cricket? Dhoni did not face bowlers like Donald/Waqar/Wasim/Imran, Sachin did not face bowlers like Lilee/Hadlee/Marshal/Garner, etc. It is foolish to call anyone "G0D" of cricket :)

We did not win many of those matches... Sharjah was flat track.. average bowling attack.. and not a very high score.. something like chasing 320 or 350.. weve seen avg cricketers chase 350. 400 effectively ..

Please take out Dhoni's innings of 91 in World Cup (flat track), West Indies (average bowling attack), Pakistan (flat track), Jaipur (flat track) and what are you left with? :)
Boss I have no issues admiring excellent innings whether they come from Sachin or Dhoni.
But YOU have great difficulty in admiring Sachin for some reason... :)

Ramesh, when someone scores a century in that match with more than 100SR and still the team loses the match, i dont think any person with knowledge will blame the centurion for playing well :)

in the list mentioned above of dhoni in one of those innings whr dhoni socred 74 in that same match sachin scored 95 in this cb series last year while chasing some 270 odd in st final sachin scored 100 plus and nt out to guide india home while chasing in the second final he scored some 90 plus run.if u want an argument then u also fix the rules for that also.in india if we compare chennai and mumbai chennai is a difficult track to bat on than chennai. and india chased down england some years ago in a test match and sachin scored a 100.so thr r number of occasions thr but i also request pseudos not to involve in an argument with any idiot as they will bring down you to his level and then they will beat u with thr exp.the thing is that in life they failed somewhere and i bet someday they will start talking agnst dhoni also. they just cant bear any persons sucess. and as far as i know finisher is a player who normally bat down the order the openers role is to put a soild stand. and the rest have to follow.all players r important and no one is god.did he claimed himself god ever.if he is fit and playing then whts the problem with others i simply dont understand.i also dont understand people claimed for head of sachin dravid laxman b coz they past 38 but we love to join rally of netas usually 60 or 70 plus and even we admit that at the age of 60 and 70 even 80 thr brain works much better than the 40 plus people.whras after 58 we dont allow people to work in govt offices.jai hind

sachin's 136 in test (agst pak) and 104 against ziimbabwe at Benoni remains his best in his 311 test inning and 450 one day game respectively..few here and there average quality inning like 117 and 122 (eng) , 175 & 200 in one day can also qualified into good inning. Rest of innings are just like an employee who is working in company for 25 years and accumulates provident fund (runs) but end of the day he did not achieve anything. Once his records would be broken people will start to forget him. Just like Border, bycott, Zahir abbas,.. … Sachin don’t have such a quality inning to boast for. Jeorge headly, Gream Pollock, Barry Richards, weeks, Walcott, these Giant never known for quantity but always remember for quality performance.
Agree that the match should have been over much earlier and he himself made a match out of nothing. But then are we forgetting that he is the same gy who won the WC for us, who has been finishing matches and has an average of 51. Who finally completed Indias dream of a wicketkeeper batsman after the (dis)likes of Mongia, More etc. So please give him some respect yaar
Now, BCCI will look at his or India ODI performance and will conclude that all is ok and no need to drop anyone. Dhoni,Raina,Ishant, and somewhat Rohit sharma have been the most lucky crickets to retain their places since a year after Agarkar etc.
The following crickets need to be dropped in interest of Indian future.
1.Dhoni(not a batsman, bowler, wicket keeper, just surviving on captaincy) 2.Raina(T20 player) 3.Ishant(Brainless,line and lenthless, single dimensional bowler) 4.Rohit(over-hyped) 5.Zaheer,Praveen(Joggers) 6.Dravid(Gone chapter) 7.Laxman(Blue moon) 8.Tendya(takes his place for granted and at such stage of his career, never delivers when needed. Selfish player who intentionally dismisses himself when team needs him and who waits for an occasion to score his milestones instead of making it as another number in the statistics)
The following people needs to drafted
1.Rahane(Best averaged player in domestic cricket and who proved his worth in international cricket with little chances he got) 2.Pujara(Second best batting average in domestic cricket) 3.Saha(Best wicket keeper batsman) 4.Bowlers(Unfortunately, none in domestic cricket have class like Pak,Aus,Eng bowlers) 3.
