Even if he does not get the maha satak,Sachin is still the greatest ever to play the game. Bradman himself felt Sachin was the greatest. Bradman did not get his 100.00 average when he miserably failed to score just four in his last innings. However this does not cloud his reputation although 100 would have been neat. The same is true for Sachin -- 99 has already earned you immortality.
Sachin missed the golden opportunity of going out on a high after world cup victory.Now after the next home series,in which he normally performs well,he should retire without further delay.His seniors like Gavaskar should advise him to retire instead of telling that still a lot is left in him.If we don't take decision in time, time will take a decision. Now the time has come for Sachin.
There is no need for Sachin to prove himself.He already has the best statistics as Batsmen in the world.He scored runs consistently in the test series versus Australia and he deserves to continue playing cricket as long as he can score consistently.Media must not create a hype around his hundredth hundred which will come in due course of time.

Ashwani, no one is asking him to prove anything. Apart from the 1st 2 tests, he DID NOT play well at all.....

AP, read my message to Ashwani peoperly. I dont see any reason why I should be the fan of any player? When they do badly, i criticize them. And by the way, do u agree that apart from 1st 2 tests, he did not play well?

My apologies. You are right. Sachin didn't play well in tests 3 and 4. But even Ashwani is right. Media should stop this nonsense about 100th 100, as if a failure to score 100 is a total batting failure, as long as Sachin is playing consistently well... Keyword - consistently. Not "always"..
sachin is under tremendous pressure from news papers to make breaking news it seems so sachin has to remove all fear of Television broadcast news papers and just concentrate on the game he played when he scored his first 100 against England and his 1st 100 attracted his present day wife to him so the first century is very very very special for sachin and that ease, momentum and rythum sachin if achieves will get his 100th 100 also but all anwers lie in the way in which sachin completed his first 100 against england in year 1990 that time also India was white washed by England Graham Gooch scored 333 and 123 runs against india and sachin scored 100 showed some positive ray of hope to Cricket India now sachin has to rediscover his skill again that first 100 of sachin is the only video clip sachin must view agaian and again to achieve his 100 th 100 i think sachin is unstoppable if he manages to concentrate !

Before 2011, England whitewashed India was in 1974 . In 1993 Ind whitewashed them...SO no during Graham Gooch it was not whitewash..
He was not willing to retire & finally had to be told in the interest of the team to leave.The same fellow to get favours from Sachin in IPL is singing different tune after suggesting him to retire.The fact of life is that sachin has played his best cricket & his presence in dressing room is adversely affecting the formation of new combination.

Steve is just jealous of Sachin as he didnot make money as Sachin.Sachin got Restaurant chains,Million dollar worth of property,Real estate but Steve Waugh got nothing.Sachin just ignore this achievment less creature and kee p playing.

True but Steve brought many more victories for Australia as batsman & captain which is where sachin failed.He made lot of money deservedly but time has come to bid farewell to one of India's truly wonderful batsman.
