No 1 team indeed
by Varun on Feb 07, 2012 02:06 AM  | Hide replies

England has proved how strong and no 1 their team is. All fan boys were after india. Now see this is the quality of teams as of now. India was slightly better for a time and now back to ground level.

This is just sour grapes logic Varun...... Like politicians, no need to blame other teams when we are not doing well. Look at England, atleast they gave a good fight in the 3rd test. Margin of loss was just 70 runs when compared to us (innings and 200 runs or loss by 300 runs, etc). Apart from 1 or 2 sessions in the Melbourne test, we never played like a #3 team.

And all the fan boys were crying that India was losing badly, not because England won.

Eng are good with ball and in field but pathetic vs spin in asian pitches.
if they prepare well and in advance i.e at least 4 practice games they can do well in india

margin looks small..but england was completely outplayed by pakistan..nowdays no team is good enough in other backyards ..and no team can claim to be no 1.

hehe. Myths held dear? Every team is like this. England and aus cannot survive against spin. But in your mind, spin is somehow inferior to pace. Hence the half processing of information that you are getting. Sporting track does not mean track that supports pace. It means a track that offer something to bowlers and batsmen at the sametime, be it spin friendly or pace friendly. Way too friendly to pace or spin are not sporting. The tracks in Aus or england are only as sporting as tracks in India and pak. However we do have a habit of making our wickets batsmen friendly and hence you see higher scores from home teams as well as visiting teams.

Varun:

a) Australia defeated Sri Lanka in subcontinent

b) England toppled Pakistan below 100 in first innings

c) England lost all matches fightingly instead of "surrendering" defeats by 300 runs and innings defeats etc.

THAT is the outcome of having "sporting" pitches at home... not batsmen friendly tracks...

Any other doubts?
