got all out for 99 and still fought back and got Eng out for 141. Dhoni would have gone totally defensive and put fielder on boundary and surely Eng would have scored 600 and handed inning defeat. This is what happened in England and Australia test matches. We had Aus down at 29-4 but as soon as score was 50-4 Dhoni became defensive and let Hussey and Ponting score easy singles.

same story got repeated in test 2 and 3. And then when assuies was 40-3 in fourth test we had only two slips two guinine edges one of ponting and other of clarke went thru 3 slips. thats the reason we don't see players getting out to indian bowler in slip area even when we have bowlers now who can swing and bowl in excess of 140 kpm.
too much importance to performances in Limited overs cricket. Now that a match has been won ,media and public should refrain from reading too much into it. Look at the shots being played. Players are attempting similar shots in Tests too. Hence the downfall. We should decide whether we want virat, Rohit sharma etc to play limited overs cricket or Test cricket. They cannot suceed in both. That much is clear. Better to have entirely seperate teams for tests and limited overs cricket.

Dude, they can succeed in both. But the youngsters need some more experience. A good cricketer CAN adapt to both formats, but with more experience.
If u see the shots they played in Eng & Aus tests, it is evident that they were still in the sub-continent style of batting. Experience will solve all these problems, and I do not mean super seniors (whose reflexes have slowed down).

Packed schedule of Indian team will never allow it to adapt to all formats. Where is the time ? Next series starts even before the current series gets over.

Inbetween, we have the devil called IPL which is played on flat tracks :) So, they wont mind a series loss here also.....
It is not a great victory but certainly A MORAL BOOSTER. It will give a badly needed reprieve to the team. There is no question Australia gifting us this win by fixing. Australians never belived in gifts...they are great fighters all the time..we won due to some wonderful fielding (by design or luck) that's all..One ODIs aussies will hit back..this time we will be more alert
India losing in england in tests 4-0 was ok.the english bowlers are the best swing bowlers in the world. Aus bowlers bowled very well but still to be whitewashed by this upcoming aus side was poor
As soon as Saurav is out of coomentary on star cricket india won Inida lost all matches in england and 5 in australia so far and saurav commented in all those. Yesterday he has been replaced in the comm box and see the result.

One of the step Indian cricket should take is to listen to Ganguly. May be he went to advise Indian team off frm commentary box.
