Dhoni bashing uncalled for
by Rajendra Bowrie on Feb 01, 2012 07:22 PM  | Hide replies

It's sickening that yesteryear's cricketers become experts and call for Dhoni's replacement. Do they understand with worldclass batting failed repeatly, what can Dhoni, the captain, coming at No.7 do

Thats the whole point of it. While Dhoni won matches it was not Dhoni coming in at no. 7 that did any magic trick it was a team that played to the potential. If Dhoni takes the cake for it so the bashing comes to him

dhoni as captain
by jayanta Sengupta on Feb 01, 2012 07:00 PM

I am surprised to see the comments made by seniour cricketers who just the other day had criticised Dhons captaincy. The same people had pointed out his field placings were wrong he lets things go on its way not proactively doing anything etc etc, It is true that though Dhoni has won the T20/ WC but his real acumen as test captain has been wanting. Any captain would be termed successful should perform well overseas thats the bench mark and nothing less.A mediorce wicket keeper a batsman who is not so classy is lucky to lead India as at that time there was no one to lead. BCCI looked at the situation and wanted a person who would be their yes man made Dhoni the captain. Sadly they were mistaken .

by arvin g on Feb 01, 2012 06:01 PM

is making these statements and his friends in media will now highlight that waht a great person he is ...
in india only 2 captains voluntarily quit... great kapil and sachin coz they both are true indians playing for india... if dhoni is serious let him resign and selectors worry about who to pick as captain but dhoni ever the politician he is from land of laloos knows how to play with words...

Experts are Missing the Point

Even if we are to assume that Dhoni is the best option available as a captain, the point to ponder over is, can he hold his position in the team as a batsman?

I feel even if the gentlemen sack Dhoni from captaincy,it should not be given to Sehwag--He doesn't deserve it as he hasn't shown any responsibility as a frontline senior batsman in the entire series..He still feels he can bat as he used to in his early days--He has to show some responsibility
