Please learn some cricket and some fact, first. pataudi won the first ever oversea match against New Zealand. And, have you seen any of his matches, even in TV? How can you rate him "mediocre"?

Should Sehwag who opens the flood gates of India in the very first over continue to be in the team. Forget the eagerness to take over captaincy. A person who plays his own game come what may cannot fit in to be captain.

Hats off to Australia and their selectors
by Sachin Joshi on Feb 01, 2012 08:14 PM  | Hide replies

They were better in all departments. It seems Australian selectors have picked the 11 most consistent players from their domestic 20-20 league instead of relying on big names. It was a completely different team from the one that played test series. They retained only David Warner and did not select anyone else from test team. Who would have thought they will not select man of the series Michael Clarke and none of their brilliant pace bowlers. They in fact went in with a new captain and also recalled Brad Hogg at the age of 40 just because he performed brilliantly in their domestic 20-20 league. They selected horses for courses and it really paid off. Indian selectors should really learn from it. They just keep selecting big names like Sehwag, Dhoni rather than looking at recent statistics of players. If they don't do this than it's hard to imagine Australia being beaten. Right now Indian team is looking like a team from Zimbabwe, Kenya, Bermuda etc. in front of this Aussie team.

Thanks Joshi for very good analysis, a real cricketing analysis. Our selectors have "our man should play" culture. Results, who cares!!!!!!1
