Dhoni has disappointed everyone. He had to blame Hurricane Sandy or inflation or Gujrat Election for India's loss (given his brains). Wonder what IIM Ranchi saw in this brain to study......!

Blame everyone else but not Dhoni ...
by Arv Singh on Dec 27, 2012 01:13 AM  | Hide replies

Trending from last 2 years has shown lackluster leadership by Dhoni. He was successful in the past only due Gary Kirsten, the mastermind.

* Dhoni is poor in planning for a match and lacks tactical leadership. His gamble are mindless and have failed more than succeeded.

* His assessment of pitch is so poor that he ends up picking wrong team for the pitch. Examples: Mumbai, Kolkatta, Bangalore.

* His selection strategy is very myopic & limited to players from CSK, UP, & those he knows. Examples: Jadeja, Asswin, Chawla, Rohit, Vinay, Raina.

* Dhoni lacks tactical understanding of field placement for a bowler & batsman on strike. His defensive mindset allows too many singles & helps batsmen settle down with easy singles. Examples: Indian fielders were never in the right place unlike English & Pakis.

* His bowling changes are atrocious. He runs out of options for the last overs. He changes bowlers randomly without a plan. Examples: Overbowled Asswin but underbowled Harbhajan. Choice of Kohli for two overs was political move & using inexperienced bowlers like Dinda, Awana & Jadeja in last overs is plain stupid.

* Dhoni has failed to unite players as a team. He has had issues with VVS Laxman, Dravid, Sehwag, Gambhir, Tendilkar, & Harbhajan. His whiskey ad mocking Bhajji and his dad was in poor taste and he lost is ace spinner that day.

* His relationship with Srini & CSK clouds his judgement and needs to be investigated how Jadeja was the

u conveniently forget the times dhoni has blamed himself for the defeats and also when he says batsmen failed and blames them he is also among the batsmen if he too has failed...

why do you think that if dhoni has also failed he excludes himself from the list?

But you fail to appreciate his positive approach. Every loss is just a matter of scoring those "10-15" runs or getting 1-2 wickets more.

In these tough times Indian cricket needs this optimistic positive approach to show way

When Pak were 12/3 and India could have tightened the noose, what collapse did Indian Middle Order cause? And who on earth gives the 19th over when defending 10 runs, to RAVINDRA JADEJA......!

Azhar rightly said that Dhoni looks cool and brainy when team is in good position only!

Gambhir should Lead
by kalyan karpurapu on Dec 26, 2012 04:37 PM  | Hide replies

agree kohli is future but you need to give him time to mature, he is yet to prove his credentials in Test cricket with exception of two centuries he failed in every other match. Gambhir is little out of sorts off late but he is big match player, may be he is having little trouble with dhoni which is effecting his performance and remember he scored 75 & 97 in both the world cup finals we won, he is one of the most successful batsman in second innings of tests and look at the impact index stats during our last world cup Gambhir & kohli are leading along with Yuvraj, Dhoni & Raina

gambhir will captain maybe 3 days and leave the team to attend to his ailing wife, mother or father and the vice captain sehwag or kohli will have to captain the 10 member team for the remaining 2 days

Is dhoni captain or gambler?
by kalyan karpurapu on Dec 26, 2012 04:36 PM

He throws final over to gentle mediaum Unknown pace bowler in T20 final against Pakistan, luck favoured and India Won later we had never seen Joginder sharma. In IPL he throws last over to Raina against indias biggest hitter (Yuvraj) again luck favoured CSK won the match........the examples are endless.....he is misusing his responsibility as captain and playing GAMBLING, hope every one will agree luck will not be your side for ever, but only talent does. Now here we can see most bizzare team selections of all time (he is just taking pure gambling) throw him out of captaincy but surely I would love dhoni as WKeeper Batsman not as captain.
Now:
With england he gambled with ALL SPIN, VS pakistan all PACE with 3 regular bowlers.....form wise ASHWIN is better batsman than bowler off late at least he would have played ASHWIN: Who would have conceeded fewer runs than RJadeja and scored more runs than Jadeja we would have won the match as it was close game

Dhoni & Srinivasan ruining INDIAN CRICKET
by kalyan karpurapu on Dec 26, 2012 04:34 PM

Brand value of CSK will be higher if
1. Captain of India is leading CSK
2. More regulars of Indian team are part of CSK team
3. More brand..more money CSK will earn: SIMPLEST LOGIC

That is the reason why many average cricketers like VKumar,Rjadeja, ashwin, badri, vijay etc will be easily into indian team and also in the playing XI purely at the intrest of CSK commercials. Due to this politics the biggest impace players in indian team are also struggling to sync with captain and hence they are also struggling with form (gambhir, sehwag,Harbajan,Irfan Pathan) and there are many more impact players who needs to be given confidence by captain and selectors which would do wonders to their confidence and indian cricketers.....

BOTH SIDES PLAYED GOOD GAME OF CRICKET
by damodaran mohan on Dec 26, 2012 04:17 PM

Absolutely, India should have scored more. But never mind inspite of the loss there were lot of positives for India not seen in recent times.Bhuvaneshwar Kumar's four overs more than compensated the loss. Ajinkay Rahane's brilliant start with Gambhir was another positive on a losing cause. Dhoni himself needs to be complimented for having made the right choice to open the bowling attack with the debutant. The whole team displayed the real fighting spirit in the brilliant fielding and catching in defending a small total to take the game to a close finish almost to the end. This is the type of spirit people would like to see from the Indian side. Pakistan on the other hand were the deserving winners having played better cricket. Pakistan generally not known for good fielding however were a totally different fielding side effecting couple of run outs which ultimately triggered the Indian batting collapse .Further, after the initial jolt the way the veteran war horse Shoab Malick and Captrain Md. Hafeez kept their cool to play a match winning partnership was commendable. It was evident as long as India was unable to dislodge Shoaib Mallick , a Pakistan win was certain given the low total needed. Anyway both sides played good cricket. It mattered little who won or lost.

Indian cricket Team - problems a plenty
by Nelaraju on Dec 26, 2012 03:25 PM

India cannot expect to win a cricket match, in any format, only with one wicket taking bowler at any given time. Unfortunately there is encouragement for batters in India not the bowlers.
