He should have been allowed to complete 50 centuries in ODI's. BCCI should have 'arranged' a special match with Kenya/Zimbabwe for this purpose. Whatever the papers may say it does appear he took the decision because he was to be dropped for the Terrorists series. Now he should be sacked from Tests.

Just credit him 1 free 100 on achievement of 49 hundreds so that the record of 50 hundreds is there for his satisfaction

He kept his word that he would find suitable time. His glory will not get diluted bys few bad innings he will cherish in the m,emory of all cricket fans allover

Please give the hype a rest now!
If he was so great and talented he should never got out for zero which he did on 50 plus occasions!
Nobody expects him to score a 50 or a 100 in every match but for all the talk about his phenomenal talent, he should have managed to make at least one run in every match he played!
Feeling very SAD that Icon of World Cricket has retired from ODI's . Since last 24 yrs we were watching the ALMIGHTLY of cricket playing . May be he soon find good form in tests .

wht did dhoni do in the whole of the world cup. I guess it was Yuvi who won Idia the world Cup not Dhoni. Dhoni was the captain of Best Indian Team where as Sourav was captain of India team and he made it the best. Sachin s a wonderfu player and his record shows it we r no 1 to compare his record. He is a true Indian and he don't not deserve to be retiring lke this. All bcoz of shameful Dhoni and BCCI.

I loved watching your so called ALMIGHTLY like a hapless looser in 2 whitewashes and to top that loosing a test series in India. WOw, gr8 sir.
congratulations Sachin 1) For being entertrainer 2) For a great ODI career you had and being wonderful natural cricketer. 3) For future of the game in India. 4) For allowing youngsters to prosper. 5) For being gentlemen
We are a nation of fools. No one will ever even know how much of taxpayers' money the country has been spent on maintenance of this man and got nothing in return. If the same amount were spent appropriately, we would have inculcated a habit of playing in society and had a much healthier nation.

it is easy to comment.before that one must check his views.government of india also spends tax payer"s money on you. what did you do.we have no rights to criticise him bcoz we never acheived 0.1% on what he acheived.he acheived everything, still he behaves like a simple man.people who did nothing, now stand in line to criticise him.what a shame .

Stop worrying about this retired "rich son" and think about the safety of poor daughters of this nation
