Players , apart from the match fee, awards etc get retainer fee from BCCI, the fee is anything between 15 Lakh to 1 crore per year.

Yuvraj was brilliant!!!
by Arv Singh on Dec 21, 2012 10:39 PM  | Hide replies

Yuvraj Singh stamped his superior class over Indian Cricket once again. The critics have been calling for his head and he was omitted from the Test team despite a quality 75 in the Ahmedabad.

Looks like Dhoni was looking for an excuse to get Yuvraj out of the team. The guy never gets a fair chance to settle down and is removed on first instance of failure.

Tendulkar, Laxman, Rohit, and Raina went through bad patches too but but were given a longer spells to recover.

And, why was he not used more in bowling during the test matches? Dhoni needs an explanation.

Time to appoint a more dynamic captain for the team and get rid of dead wood like - Asswin.

Agree. I was rather surprised to see him being replaced by His Highness Sir Ravindra Jadeja.

obviously u are surprised since u are ignorant about how dhoni uses yuvraj in odi and T20 format...

just check up the records to see how much dhoni has used him in these formats...(even better than ganguly used to do when he was captain and had yuvraj in his odi team)

you being his bootlicker are more ignorant about how dhoni used Yuvraj in the tests. no wonder you replied with data related to ODIs & T20s (when the topic of discussion was tests).

requires youngsters, not oldies to succeed . He proved that in the first T20 world cup win. Throw Sachin, Sehwag out

Why this Dhoni can't win successive T 20 world cups with his youngsters & not even progressed beyond Super 8 In Srilanka ?
Don't live in fools paradise with a single win that too came against England without Key players.

and btw, drsaab, senior junior are all relative terms...you are trying to create the impression that these people were seniors when we won all those things...any stranger to the game might be fooled by your post but not me and many others...

when you say that yuvi is sharing dravid sachin dressing room for decade and ganguly kumble for 7 yrs. you are making it appear as if we won all these T20 wc, odi wc and cb series just last month...my dear dr we won odi wc about 2 yrs ago...so yuv and dhoni and others were 2 yrs. ''less senior'' (than 2012) similarly when we won cb series these 2 and others were ''less senior''(than 2012) by about 5 yrs. and when we won the T20 wc these 2 and others were ''less senior'' (than 2012) by about 7-8 yrs....so when we won these things they could be rightfully called as juniors and not seniors...

so stop trying to create this wrong impression...

Good joke Sunil.
When T20 wc was started 5 years back, Yuvraj was a "less-senior" who played 183 ODI innings :)
By the time CB series started 3.5 yrs ago, Yuvraj was a "less-senior" who played 195 ODIs :)
When WC started in Feb-2012, Yuvraj was a "less-senior" who played 265 ODIs :)

You dont need someone to fool you. You are already one :)
so why dont you try and stop speaking nonsense?? And is Yuvraj now a "less-senior" or a "more-senior" now? :)

Thanks Jiju, but ask Sunil. He cannot be fooled like others (since he is already one). He has some new classifications like "less senior", "more senior", "most senior", "less junior", "more junior", "most junior" and "DHONI". The last one cannot be blamed for anything which goes wrong.

sorry i meant t20 was in 2007 and cb series was in 2008...so they were that much younger...it was 4-5 yrs. ago that we won the cb series and 5-6 yrs. ago that we won the t20 wc...

so strop trying to create a wrong impression that those teams consisted of senior players...

the way you are talking it seems that the players can be called juniors only if they have just made their debut...

and those who have played a few matches and not just making their debut dont seem to qualify to the tag juniors...

and by the way though you might feel yuvi was the main reason that indian those world cups and cb series...i dont agree with you...for me it was not won by only yuvi or only dhoni but also the others like gambhir, rohit, uthappa, irfan, chawla, praveen kumar etc. so we seem to disagree on that aspect to...for me it is team game though you might feel yuvi single handedly won those cups...

dr saab dont try to confuse the issue...by juniors i never meant that all were rank newcomers...when i answered sivanandam i was just talking about seniors and juniors...one really knows what these terms mean...to be more explicit by juniors we mean those players who are not contemporary to sachin dravid laxman etc...

if you really want to talk about who seniors are and who juniors are one can say that those who were ''ancient'' enough to have been part of azhar's team can be called seniors or veterans...and others belong to the new generations though they some of them may have 2-3 yrs. more experience than the majority of the team members...

Seniority does not always mean age, but the number of matches played. A guy having played atleast 50 ODIs can never be called a junior or a senior my friend :)

I Pathan was 73 matches old when T20 was played, Sehwag was 175 matches old, Harbhajan was 151 ODIs old, even Sir Agarkar who played a few matches in T20 WC was 191 ODIs old :)

And when you say Dhoni cannot be blamed when the team lost, you have no rights to claim his role in victory. Dont divide the team into senior & junior. It is just a relative term, Yuvi is senior to Dhoni by around 4-5 months (DOB). But senior to Dhoni by around 60 ODIs and 4 years. So, dont bring in age here. The only fossil living is Sachin (463 matches).

dr saab i was neither bringing in age nor bringing in the no. of matches...i was just answering sivanandam when he was blaming dhoni and youngsters obviously he still cannot get over the period of dravid laxman sachin ganguly kumble...and he was lambasting the new generation players...i only was asking him what dravid laxman sachin ganguly kumble etc. have given that he is blasting the new generation players who have at least won for india t20 wc odi wc and cb series...

i hope i have made myself clear on this issue...

Firstly, thank you for not repeating what I said with changing 1 word. Secondly, Yuvi has shared the dressing room with Dravid/Sachin for a decade & with Kumble/Ganguly for almost 6-7 years. So, he CANNOT be a junior anymore. Senior/junior is a tactic by people like you done to divide the team. Dont go by the theory of relativity for blame game.

Well said Doctor :)
I too feel the same. The only dividing factor can be performance and not seniority (apart from very old age) :)

And if I am not mistaken, our great captain also started with the punchline "perform or perish".

One Lakh Rupees is Extremely less

One Lakh Rupees is Extremely less for a Man of the Match award. It must be atleast 4 or 5 lakhs.

BCCI must award players highly so that they perform well consistently.
