He should have retired after 2007 WC itself ,

it has been ay too late . what does he think

of himself ? or does he want to extinguish all

the fire youngsters have in them ( as he have

been doing for past 7-8 years ) by signalling

that there is no place for them in the team

because 'he does not feel like retiring' and

max they could do is to play ranji and feel satisfied ?

The selectors should pick the best team !!!!

The selectors should pick the best team every time. No need for Sachin to retire. He can go back to playing Ranji trophy. He will have to perform to earn a call back.

very easy in ranji the guys will support him and allow him to score big runs so that it is easy for seletors to choose the aged hero as against the younger lot...they will gain loose the chance to be groomed at the highest level...the joke floating around is that the ranji player who joind cricket as a child after being ispired by tendulkar is still to get into the national side becuse of sachin

HUMILIATIONS AND RIDICULE DO NOT BOTHER HIM ANY MORE
by damodaran mohan on Dec 19, 2012 05:53 PM

Sachin is not ruing anything.Actually he is eying the foreign tours after the Aus home series and the monetary benefits thereof.Unless the selectors throw him out he is not going to retire himself. He is certain to attract more humiliations and ridicule because it is evident it is not the low scores but the way he is playing that he will not be able to face the Aus or the SA pace attack. There is absolutely no chance.main worry is team India is the loser.

Gavaskar quit after the test series with Pakistan where he scored is 10,000th run & his last innings was 96 runs made on a minefield in Bangalore- which almost won India the match- Gavaskar rates that innings as his best & Imran Khan rates that innings as the most skilful innings he has seen. So Dawn - Gavaskar doesnt fit into your list of 'Forced to Quit"

You are correct. The Dawn is a respected newspaper in Pakistan and is known for its balanced views and good reporting. Surprising that such a blunder appeared in this paper.
