The Obvious : UNANIMOUS OPINION THAT THIS INDIAN TEAM IS NOT WORTHY OF BEING RETAINED FOR FUTURE TESTS.
Possibilities : 1. AS is the BCCI's wont, make some COSMETIC changes in the guise of the usual sloganeering that a mix of EXPERIENCE and YOUTH is what needed. 2. Make some REAL serious changes even if unpalatable in an attempt to resurrect and relive Indian Cricket and its glory.
Option number 1 will help individual players at the cost of national cicketing pride.
Option number 2 will be a boost to the game and the pride of India while a few individual players will be disgruntled.
There cannot be a more appropriate time to effect Option number 2 in the larger interest of the game.
Who should represent the new team ?
Murali Vijay, Rahane, Kohli, Pujara, Manoj Tiwary (Rohit), Dinesh Karthik (Saha), Irfan, Ashwin, Ohja, Ishanth, Dinda(umesh yadav), Chawla and two or three more. Captain : a batsman; Vice-captain: a bowler preferably a spinner.
It will not take more than two years to make this a star team. The benefits will be in terms of enhanced self-esteem, self-confidence, good relationship on and off the field, better performance, not an iota of EGO, favourable attitude, decorous on and off field conduct, and what more can one would want !
It is easier said than done but this is the BEST medicine/surgery that the Indian team needs at this critical juncture.

till monty arrived, we were all over the skies. when he came to bowl the first ball, the writing was on the wall. i must say an indian hand was there in our defeat..
where are those who said 4-0 india , where are those who said Swann will be carted all over the park? where are those who said england will dance to spin?

Shilpa, Cook was twice given out wrongly in this test. Humiliation happens sometimes. It is what we learn out of it, which matters (precious little, in this case).

even after 4-0 4-0 losses if indian selectors pick almost same team , do not give ppl like rahane etc chances, still intent on practicing football before play, and some of members say come to india we will teach you, then nothing can change.

it is very surprise thatno senior players( Villans of the TEAM- Sehwag,Sachin and Gambhir) declare retirements from the cricket, actually they donot have any sahame. pl kick them

IPL completely spoils the professional cricket especially Indian team. Turns the brain to money minded.
Indian team has to look at what indian disabled (Blind)cricketers has achieved , they dont get enough money , neither they have IPL to support their financial needs, its high time BCCI takes decision against the team

as if other COUNTRY's players donot play in IPL the real problem is POLITICS in TEAM BCCI and FIXING
Everybody expect huge changes in the Indian team for next series. But nothing will happen in the next team selection. How many series India lost before ? Who took an action against them ? Here in India , cricket board and players always thinking about how earn some money. Cricket board now thinking about the upcoming Ipl. Players now thinking about where is the best shopping centre.Cricket fans forget this defeat after few weeks. I thing India team only can change their captain, when Dhoni announce his retirement

Yes, it is correct that batsmen should take responsibility. All will agree, it is time for Tendulkar to retire. It is best for him to retire and allow other players to take his place. There are many genuine players like Kohli in India. There is a real need of fast bowlers in Indian Test Cricket. Zaheer era is over.

Sachin will never go out without a grand farewell. He will wait to score a century. His legacy is about individual hundreds even if it means nothing towards winning a game. Don't expect him to hang up his boots like Dravid. He will want to score a 100 against Australia and do anything to get that. By anything I mean play slowly when the team needs to score quickly, etc.
