IND ENG Series
by Sivasubramanian Venkatraman on Dec 17, 2012 06:08 PM

Considering the team we have the result 2.1 is not surprising. I dont think we have good bowlers to take 20 wickets against any test playing team. Our batsmen may be classified as Shewag, Tendulkar,Gambir, dhoni - fading lights, pujara can only survice in Indian conditions, kohli, yuvaraj, Raina are all unpredictable, Jadeja Bits and piece player, AS far as bowlers are concerned except Ojha no one is consistant. Only Bangldesh and windies match our inconsistancies.Nothing wrong in taking drastic steps.

I think it is for spiritless captain who should hae the ability to charge/motivate his players.

Batsmen must take responsibility – Dhoni
by itz Scorpion on Dec 17, 2012 05:18 PM  | Hide replies

Yes, it is correct that batsmen should take responsibility. All will agree, it is time for Tendulkar to retire. It is best for him to retire and allow other players to take his place. There are many genuine players like Kohli in India. There is a real need of fast bowlers in Indian Test Cricket. Zaheer era is over.

Once the captain is changed, the same batsmen will fire! Can they try that for the next series?

Forget about any individual, Dhoni has not motivated any of the other batsmen to perform! He has not done anything significantly as a captain to shift the blame! Also nowadays a wicketkeeper is also considered a regular batsman by most teams. There is no luxury of batting being a bonus.

don't you think being in the team itself should be a big motivation?Or do you expect Dhoni to give incentives from his personal account for scoring runs?

It was the same coach who helped Eng to become a trong team. Coach is never given any say in India. If coach is taking all the decisions why there is a guy called Captain othe field? Is he only for Commercials?

Advice to BCCI
by itz Scorpion on Dec 17, 2012 05:14 PM  | Hide replies

If India wants to play better in future selectors need to consider: a) Handover reins to Kaif. Dhoni and Gambhir given last chance against Aussies to perform or go out. b) Sachin should be told to retire and not wait till 200th test.Sehwag dropped. c) Give less priority to Individual stats and records like sehwag and Bhajji's 100th tests. d) no bit sn pieces player like Jadeja. Need to have Rayudu, Rohit, Manoj and Rahane as the next gen of middle order batsmen. e) try people who can bowl in 140's. e) Don't bother about commercial ads and corporate pressure. when some performs the old ones will be replaced with them for ads. Ashwin, Pujara have started getting ads! f) NO regional quota system. Best XI in India should be playing.
