Drop everybody
by Santosh Ghirnikar on Dec 14, 2012 02:02 AM  | Hide replies

Only Pujara and Kohli deserve a place in the team. Drop everybody else. At least then we will have a legitimate excuse for losing because of a brand new team. In 2 to 3 years they will begin to perform. The players have become lazy and complacent because the IPL dough is there as back-up for these shameless guys.

This article stinks of bad BCCI sambhar
by Arv Singh on Dec 13, 2012 12:54 PM

This article stinks like bad sambhar from BCCI boardroom. Obviously, the article is targeting Gambhir but take a moment to think why?

The timing of this article is critical. Right at the time when Dhoni is under criticism for poor performance and many are asking for his head. So who is the most likely candidate if Dhoni is kicked out? Gambhir, right!

The photograph in this article is photoshopped to make Gambhir look ridiculous. Dirty and sleazy trick by Dhoni and his cronies. I can guess that this article was penned in the BBCI boardroom with Dhoni and Srini wanted to launch this offense against Gambhir.

Rediff, you have stooped really low on this one. SHAME!!!

To the extent Dhoni is correct: Gambhir may have score few runs but responsible for Two run outs which really made lot of difference in building indian innings. Gambhir looks to be having attitudnal problem.

Dhoni should be kicked out immediately. Dhoni has no performance in all 03 formats of CKT recent past. Yes, in his captaincy we won 02 WC but what was his self performance in those? Except WC final he did nothing. Also in WC final Goutam made the base and Dhoni promoted himself in order which was not essential, anybody could have did that. In fact it is his cunning tactics for fame and money, that whenever India was in batting trouble he usually came in lower order and in good platform when victory is ahead he usually promotes himself in higher order and remain not out to increase his average. It was seen in many matches that he could not accelerate the run rate to remain not out to increase his average which cost India to loose the matches. Also he did nothing in T-20 WC which India won. With the support of Srinivasan he made ODI team as CSK and now also Test team. This man and Srinivasan are pulling India back. Now he comparing Ashwin with Gambhir but forget that he did nothing in the entire three tests. After Aus series he told against Sehwag (would be captain) and made him out from the team and now when Gambhir would be a choice he is complaining against him also. Selectors were ready to remove him but his godfather, CSK chief Srinvasan saved him. India will definitely achieve nothing under his captaincy in Test CKT. After AUS test series he told that he has little interest in Test CKT. What was his game plan before Eng(0-4),Aus(0-4) and now Eng home series? He only thou

thought that only spinning pitch will be sufficient. Also his field placing and bowling change was poor. Slip and FSL position should be placed by specialist fielder but he had no game plan which cost drop catches of Cook. He knows very well that if he will be in the team as captain his earnings will be more from ad and endorsements and if he resigns from captaincy he will not be there in the team because of his performance. There are many better keeper-batsmen in India but as he is the captain he is in the team without any performance and India is playing on short of player, by 10 players. If Srinivasan and Dhoni will be there India will be in lowest level in Test CKT near future.

Dhoni has two jobs on hand. One as player and other as captain. Everyone knows how he is faring as a player in recent times. That does not mean he should not have control on the team and attitude of each player.

As a captain, he has every right to complain in such cases with the people he is accountable to. At the same time it is his duty to justify his complaint.

If the rule is, if captain is not performing, he should not question other players, then the captain will be the person who is in best form in the season. In this series, Pujara should have been the captain.

Gambhir, if he is eyeing the captain slot - which I believe he deserves as soon as Dhoni is knocked from the place - should make sure he does not get into such unnecessary disputes. As and when he becomes a captain and gets into a sloppy form, he will be beaten down with the brick bats. Captain's should garner respect with their attitude on and off the field, because form comes and goes hence cannot be a primary basis for being a captain. Gambhir, if is doing such activities, is only harming his prospects of becoming a captain or being a good captain. If he is not respecting his captain, team and the selectors, he can very much expect similar attitude towards him later.

What he did in the whole series, atleast gambhir scored some runs..If sehwag, gambhir, yuvraj and sachine gets out of the team then he will be happy and he will rule the team that is his plan. But now things are against him

This portal is reducing to nothing more than a tabloid... back in the 90s you had good stuff re diff but your descent is complete.. can't be all things to all people I guess and you've clearly decided to err on the side of making the quick buck.. pretty sad that yet another Indian bastion (well at least a corner) has fallen.. you've exchanged a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage my friends... where is Prem Panicker?

Yes , Ashwin played with lot of maturity. If only he could do that with bowling , which he was supposed to do. And what did Dhaoni exactly do with his own batting ??. scores of 0 4 , 6. Is that how a captain perform ?. In aus dhoni targeted sehwag , now he is targeting gambhir. There is a pattern for this. when u lose , target someone . But when the team is winning no praises to whosoever is doing well. Everyone says Dhoni won the world cup. but who performed well in the finals and all through the series ??. No mention of that. Okay , when the seniors was there , he complained about old players. Now they are gone / removed , he says since seniors are gone there would be pressure. for crissake who is backing this guy ?. Yes , in india we are going to question every bit of cricket , its like religion (fortunately there is no communal clash in this religion). If you cant take the pressure , better quit. There are scores of players who can perform far far better.
