Please note - Brian Lara holds the record
by Indian Sadhu on Dec 11, 2012 05:24 PM

Brian Lara scored 501 on June 6, 1994 playing for Warwickshire against Durham (Both English County cricket teams). That is the record for highest first class score in an innings.

Nowhere is it mentioned in this article that Bradman's record was later broken by a Pakistan Batsman by scoring 499 runs . I forgot the name of the batsman. Anyone...... with the answer ???? ( For my benefit and for the benefit of others ! ) May the GREAT Nimbalkar's soul rest in peace !!

That was Hanif Mohammed, but he is not the highest first class run scorer for a single innings.

What is not mentioned is that the Kathiawar captain conceded the match only to prevent Nimbalkar from breaking Bradman's record

Great Hero

When Sir Don Bradman sent a personal note to Nimbalkar saying that he considered the Indian's innings better than his own, then why should we post any comment? Only SALUTE to him on behalf of all the Cricket Lovers.
