While it has been proved that England cricket team is extremely balanced all most in all departments, barring few lapses in fielding at an important time. India's bowling attack is not at all international level and batting stars are in lost form and above all Indian captain is lacking strategy, I would ask captain cook why they should not try again to beat Indian team and humiliate them on their own soil? At best, if England loose the test the series will be drawn, that will also remain a great achievement for a foreign team on Indian soil.

think there are few reasons Tendulkar is playing and no selector is pointing a finger at him. 1) Either Tendulkar has already talked to selectors and said he will retire after England Series and he don't want to disturb team morale by retiring in mid series. But the chances for this is very less because the man is very greedy he has some serious financial commitment. 2)Tendulkar is still bringing huge revenue to BCCI via endorsement and sponsorship. Like may be Mumbai Indians owner Ambani still need him to play cricket in India team to endorse their mumbai indian IPL brand and unlike in past where selection of players were on form basis here everything is of commercial and brand and IPL franchise interest 3) Rajeev Shukla Congress and BCCI headhoncho has given commitment to Tendulkar that unless you vouch for us in Rajya Sabha we will protect you in the team 4)Unless Tendaa looses his sponsorship and money he won't retire because he sees money coming and hoping he will get in form which is unlikely at this 40 age the body just don't allow you. We agree Tendu is big but Ponting, and other past greats were no less than tendu specially ponting who brought 3 world cups for australia. Every good thing has to come to an end
Other than that Tendaa has no solid reason to play one day cricket and even test. The above reason justifies the level of politics goes on in indian governance and administration. Unless tendaa comes in open and explain his plan this thing would go on.. most

Agree. The main problem with Greg was that he failed to adjust to the "Indian working culture". Gary Kirsten was a shrewd man in that aspect. But Greg's philosophy was straight-to-the point (PERFORM OR PERISH). Atleast half of the team would be out if he was there.....
