Average pace around the 70s was 115 kph and thus has been steadyly increasing to 125 kph with Kapil, Ghavri and Binny.
Srinath in recent times touch 150 kph once in the while and so did Zaheer and Agarkar.
The trio of Ishant, Yadav and Aaron now touch 145-150kph with more consistency than before on pitches overseas. So in addition to reverse swing and pace, the Indian team was more balance then before not just with middle order bats and spinners but openers and quick bowlers.
India's rise to number 1 in Tests has been because of this balance in the pace bowling attack where a decent attack if not world class coupled with a world class batting gave them the number one ranking in Tests.
On the kind of pitch we have in Eden Garderns, India should pray that Zaheer & Ishant do the ball talking while England bats.. Ojha may do well but Ashwin is playing just as a lower order batsman..

Its critical for Ashwin to perform well in this match. It looks like a bowling pitch and good for pacers and spinners. Sachin and Gambir are improving but it is same with Yuvi, Kholi and not able to prove in test matches
