u can compare only when the test played by both the players are same... which is not here.. Sachin has played more test than pointing..

Raees and Bruno, The stats given above is Test Cricket. Sachin used to bat at no:4 and Ponting at 3 or 4. So dont bark more, if you cant understand the points. And if somebody played more innings, there is too much chance for less avg compared somebody played less innings. And we are not talking about Total Runs. We are talking about AVG.

This is a discussion on Cricket and not on English grammar. Not all who discuss here are English pundits. The thoughts have to be communicated. So a "was" or a "were" does not make a difference for you to make a jibe at others. are
our so called indian cricket fans would have hurled abuses at sachin that becoz of sachin we lost the match ..now say the same for ponting as well.. that he was playing for records..blah blah ..blah
