why 10 years? u gusy become desperate to play him at senior level. First, let him play some first class matches as well as tour of india A then he'll get exposure & can play well at int'l level.talking abt retirement of dhoni, i believe he is good enough player to represent in indian odi team if not in test team.
Well, Samit will not get chance to play for India Senior Team as long as MS Dhoni continues to play for India, may be for another 8 to 10 years. Samit may try his luck at Domestic Cricket, IPL, India "A" etc....hard luck

Another 8-10 year?? you must be kidding me.. Dhoni must be 32 now.. so he just got another 4-5 years of cricket left in him... and thsi lad is young, not even 19.... he has got long time to shape up his career...
I feel Smit Patel stands no chance to play for Indian Senior Team as long as MS Dhoni continues. So, he may try for IPL and domestic and India "A" teams but nothing more than that at least for another 8 to 10 years.
congratulations to team india.i guess the secret of success is good team selection.players were very well in domestic season and were selected on basis of their performance.the work of manager is half done once good team is selected.just read of vijay who scored some historic 450 in domestic season also pessi performed nicely.the bowlers brought the glory because most of the matches were low scoring.it is good news for team india as the next world cup is in australia and new zealand and surely few of the quickies will be in the wc.the leader also showed character by showing love and caring for their players and always motivating when they are hammered.it is team work.good luck.
