Chetan Bhagat is absolutely right when he compared cricket with opium.

Lazy cricket is the equivalent of soap masala serials in the sportsworld.

Laxman's retirement impact in Australia
by R P on Aug 24, 2012 01:10 AM

Australia should declare a public holiday, now that VVS has retired. They will be celebrating as he will not torment them on the field and in the mind.

Gandhi's last words were 'Hey Ram'
Aussie cricketers must be saying 'Hey Laxman'

I think Laxman has not taken a suitable decision for Indian cricketing future.

Blame it on Srikanth-Dhoni combo who pressurized Laxman to retire after Hyderabad test. With Laxamn's retirement Dhoni can now play his ex-girlfriend Raina in final eleven.

The greats

It has been sad to watch so many greats retire one by one in the last few months. Dravid, Lee, Laxman were the legends for which we turned on our TV sets for cricket matches. In some time when Ponting retires, it will be end of test cricket for me.

Mritunjai,
Agree with you 100%.Once the present batting greats like Tendulkar,Kallis,Ponting,Jayawardene and Sangakkara retire test cricket will not be the same again.

The present crop of players an all test teams are not real test players.test matches tests the character of a player.
