VVS was a special batsman, no doubt about that, but you have to move on, and live in the presence, not think about the past, and one should remember that there is always someone to fill the place, because it is not that since dravid and laxman are not there any more, we are going to play only with 9 players, somebody will surely fit into the shoes.. so always think about the future...

perfectly said, I am a big fan of Laxman, Dravid and Sachin. Still I think younger ones need to get their opp, I am sure a few of them will prove as good (though I guess Sachin will not be matched at all).
VVS Lakshman is a great cricketer.A thorough gentle man.In indian cricket being a gentle man is a minus point.You have to abuse, make faces, remove the shirts,argue with the umpires,give press statements against the selectors, captains are some of the qualities of the present day cricketers.If you score a century shout and make ugly face.if you take a wicket do the same thing use foul language againest the player whose wicket you have taken.VVS has not done a single thing of that nature.When he was dropped from the national team he has taken it to himself.There is no godfather to VVS.Foriegn comentators praised him for his classic stroke play.Our comentators crtisized him for every oppertunity.If Tendulkar is out then the ball is unplaybel If VVS is out then his shot selection is poor.If Yuvaraj is run out it is the other batsman's fault,if VVS or his partener is run out it is invariably VVS fault and he is a slow runner.Only Azzaruddin, Kumble and Dravid understood him and valued him.Dhoni some how looks to be inconvenient with senior players.So he wanted to ease them out.Since Tendulkar is too big and Maharshtra lobby is solidly behind him he could not do much.we have to learn from Cricket Australia.How they are respecting the seniority and how they are remembering the runs Ponting has scored?Nothing great will happen to indian cricket by VVS retirement ,may be in the foreign tours we may feel his absence but the value system has failed.To day it is VVS tomorrow it maybe S

this not true at all, vvs has been always respected by every one , even all the commentators, and i feel he is given due credit for whatever ha has given to indidan cricket

Have to agree with a lot of what you said here. remember Laxamn won india the game at mohali vs AUS from 124/8 to 216/9 by one wicket and who got player of game award : Khan . Award was chosen by whom: Shastri and Gavaskar the lead men plus few others who will not go against those 2's opinion like shiva and lal. ridiculous. If Sachin was the one who made 74 then def. Sachin would have got the award
100% that he was a good cricketer,but we shud not keep discussing the past for too long,he was a good cricketer but is history now,,somebody better will emerge,time moves on...

I respect ur opinion,but my point was that itz betr to move forward than back,good to find a good alround player lyk virat than to Keep discussing abt fairly good batsman VVS.
