ONLY LESS THAN ONE YEAR!
by prajyoth pradeep on Aug 21, 2012 06:50 PM  | Hide replies

GOOD…GOOD…GOOD. So England lost at their own home. A place where England does ‘well’…. Like all other teams. Except they only lost to India in ’07 and lose to Australia every year because Australia plays them every year or two or four. Exactly a year after they took the no.1 from India they have lost it. JUST A YEAR. Same July- August last they lost and what not the commentators at ESPN and SKY were mouthing off and now just exactly after a year same time they have been HUMILIATED. In the one year they held the top spot they lost 5-0 to India in ODIs (remember its still a 100 overs unlike t20) and somehow drew 1-1 to Sri Lanka Lost 3-0 to Pakistan ranked No.5. Does a Top ranked team lose like that? So IS IT a Top ranked Team? NO for Godsssake! The only team to have held the No.1 spot for such less time. India held that spot for 3 YEARS playing a variety of opposition. They beat South Africa in South Africa and would have won that series had it not been for a single...a single Jacques Kallis- Mark Boucher partnership. Well Australia held the spot for 74 months when the ratings were conveniently introduced when they playing well and playing England every other year. So the India born Hashim Amla and Philander do it for South Africa. I hear Kevin Peterson was not playing… you mean to say you need one South African to beat another South African.

?what is somehow drew with SL?

Eng played well in the 2nd test in SL to beat them by 8 wickets
Eng bowled well in all games vs PAk as well as the 1st test in SL but batting let them down

England has done the right thing in dropping him.No one is above the country he plays for and Cricket.Players, once they become famous start having big egos. Many people write about Sachin Tendulkar and often criticise him.But he is a role model of all others.Just imagine he has played for so long and there has never been any controversy involving him.He carries the hopes of a billion people and yet he has remained humble and never comments unnecessarily.
Kevin should take up Afganistan nationality and play for them against England !!

India good in ODI and T20 but very poor in Test cricket
by lee on Aug 21, 2012 05:56 PM  | Hide replies

India team is good enough for ODI and T20 format but are really poor in test cricket format. For test cricket, India needs real good fast bowlers who should stay fit, aggressive and skilled. Without bowlers you cannot win tests against strong teams. Batting can win ODIs and t20 but not tests. With bowlers like Zaheer, Isahnt, Umesh, it is not sufficient for this team to take all 20 wickets. Instead of initiating and motivating young fast bowlers like Aaron, and some more hidden names, Indian selection panel still focuses on batting which will not improve the test side at all.

Team must find quick aggressive fast bowlers soon.

What nonsense. Strauss should be kicked out for being a loser. Arrogant leaders are useless. Watch England come down to #5 in 1-2years.

KP is best batsman in current England batting line up. England have to pay like Westindies paid in absence of C.Gayle.

Well then we don't mind it either. England are so used to being a doormat that they don't know how to handle being on the top. No wonder they started losing immediately after becoming #1.

How many Kevin Peterson's do you see in the Indian team? BCCI is such a strong organization that out players will think twice before doing a KP.

KP always has issues , he has been thrown out of 2 county sides , problems with ecb , was not selected in SA mainly due to their wrong policy but may be he was also like this then as well who knows.
Most of his problems arise from fact that he opens his mouth first and he thinks later

You are not aware of English how clannish they are .Do you think they are holy cows in the English Cricket Board - it may not be as bad as BCCI ,but it still has useless guys .
