It is quite probable that in the victorious series in Sri Lanka, the players did not pay much attention to Duncan Fletcher's impractical and losing strategies. When inspiring coaches such as John Wright and Gary Kirsten are absent, the players are better off with tips from greats like Gavaskar, Vishwanath, Dravid, Ganguly, Amarnath, Kapil Dev and Kumble. There cannot be major improvements in technique and strategy with the likes of Greg Chappell and Duncan Fletcher, who can be well described as "natural born losers" as coaches.
cricket will gain its reputation all over the world only when countries like china, russia, korea, US and brazil will enter the arena.
at present cricket is played in only few countires of asian subcontinent and mostly brown people is playing this game and they claim that they are the world champions and think that no one can beat them.
Pretty good actually, in the last 2-3 years. We have one last 3-4 ODI series in Sri Lanka, but test match record is not good. No wonder BCCI tries to squeeze in as many ODIs in SL as possible. Its a happy situation for all, cricket remains popular in India, SL Board is happy, BCCI is happy. Except for those who want India to win in Aus or SA or Eng as well.
