IPL

You do not need any technique in batting and pace or spin in bowling in this gilly dandu format. In the recent past India has fooled itself by selecting players like Gony, Jadeja, Yusuf Pathan, Uthapa, Murli Vijay, Shikar Dhavan based on their performance in IPL. These players when playing in international matches totally disappointed Indian Cricket fans and also made mockery of selectors who selected them by giving a raw and hopeless display.I hope selectors will not carried away by the performance in IPL by Indian players.

TOO EARLY TO JUDGE WITH COUPLE OF EXCEPTIONS
by damodaran mohan on Apr 18, 2012 06:08 PM

It is a bit early to pass judgement on individual performances.May be after conclusion of 75 % of the matches more accurate opinion can be formed about individual performances although one or two performances like those of A Rahane,Owais Shah,Brad Hodge,Chris Gayle..... etc. stand out.

Here's a question for all informed fans with some cricket knowledge
Will you employ a player in your team if
1. He is 40 years old
2. Has scores of 6 (182, 10), 16 (156,16), 16 (115, 9), 20 (166, 18), 3 (129,6). Thats 61 runs in 59 balls in IPL5
3. Is the slowest fielder in the tournament, slowest runner between the wickets.
4. Has overall IPL strike rate of 107.

I firmly believe all the matches are fixed. Maybe not for the money, but the keep the interest of the viewers (and owners) intact. Before y'day's match, RCB had already lost 3 matches. One more loss means they were virtually out (although the tournament has still a long way to go). Besides, a single loss wouldn't affect PWI at this stage. So just to make everyone believe that this is the most open tournament, such (fixed) upsets occur. Otherwise, isn't Ganguly capable of defending 182? Why was Marlon Samuels not given his full quota?
No wonder, people have lost their interest.
