IPL-5 started with that 'tacky' opening ceremony followed by the dull first match next day at Chennai. But as it rolls over to the 2nd week with one of the most exciting chases ever and couple of last ball cliff hanger finishes it seems IPL-5 is heading towards becoming the all time best sporting event of India with large scale International participation. The lower viwership reports in the media is a riddle but fact remains the matches are progressively becoming more and more competetive and exciting with unpredictable results. So, the viewership both on the field and on TV are bound to go up. Then you have those towering knocks of Rahanes, Sahas, Pollards, Albie..…the fiery bowling of Malinga, Morkels,Balaji, Shakib,Sunil Narain…and the ever improving fielding …all have raised the quality of T20 cricket to a new high. The way in the last three matches the supposed underdogs have beaten stronger sides very clearly indicates a more levelling of the sides In fact in the last upset match it was simply unbelievable to see giants RCB trounced by the underdogs RR. All these results have made the tournament very open with even supposedly weaker side like RR, PW etc. also having fair chance of making it to the semis. On the other hand strong sides like CSK, KKR,RCB,DDD and MI cannot get away playing inconsistent cricket and still hope to make it to the Semis.IPL-5 has truly become very competetive and promises to be the most exciting and entertaining sporting event

9contd.)..sporting event of India for the next over one month.
Owais Shah is probably the most modest guy I have seen recently,, I mean last match when they lost he didnt say that team didnt do batted well but said that he didnt bat good enough and today this,,,,looks like still there are some gentleman in cricket.
I think Rahane is far better player than overratd Kohli. he is equally good both on legside and offside. He should be immediately included in the natinal side in all forms of the game.
win and SRK s loss over the week end has warmed the hearts of millions of Indians. Great dada proved who is the all time best indian captain when he led ably a weak side and beat the mighty CSK...shame on gambhir could not score 135...good show by RR as well..

Gambir is a captain with no sense at all. Yet he could not read Eden Garden's pitch and rely on pacer like Unadkat. Long way to go, KKR. PWI simply rocking! Only thing left is Dada's run as a batsman.

poor dada...:)..unlucky with running...was never a good runner even in prime...:)but a joy to watch him lead pune...long live our beloved dada.
Owais Shah made the difference. His batting against RCB and MI were superlative.Alongwith Steve Smith he is the latest match winner in this IPL.Rahane innings was like Ryder innings the other day, solid but not tearing the opposition apart like Shah's blast!
