Umpires - Make use of technology
by Rick Shaw on Apr 10, 2012 09:38 AM

There are several instances when umpires have used technology (outside of DRS, Run-outs & stumping) when they are not sure of what happened? Say, No-ball....by law they are supposed to call it when the bowler delivers the ball but so many time they ask for review after the batsman gets out. Its a good gesture instead of giving batsman out on a no-ball. Similarly, for full toss above waist height.
Nobody is asking umpires to review LBWs (without DRS)but whenever in doubt Third umpire should be used, otherwise...what's the use of 10 cameras on field & umpire seating in gallery!!! Also, the third umpire should be pro-active..if he knows a mistake is happening...go ahead & call on field umpires..even when they don't call him..say for 5 ball over or grounded catch claimed etc...!!

All teams

All teams want to force the umpire like Bhajji and to go for third umpire every time.. Then cricket will be declared as street game.

Indias Captain what shame

Dada call him as future captain of India. Then it will be utter shame. Show some respect to Umpires.

It's a shame that Sachin is in the same team. I am a fan of Sachin when he plays for India or Mumbai, but I don't like the sight of Sachin who is a play toy for the stinking wealthy old lady - NIta Ambani. Amabanis even celebrated Sachin's 100th ton by hosting a party where they showed off Sachin as their property. That old miser Mukesh even said that Sachin has finally achieved what he considered as his dream and prophecy.

Not in the right spirit
by Raj kumar on Apr 10, 2012 09:09 AM

The way Harbajan behaved is not right. He should have showed some character. It is just a human error and should be taken in right spirit as part of the game. The point is ..it is okay to ask the umpire...but the way he went about it ...like barking and Munaf joining in..showed lack of character.

Rohit was RunOut
by Sensor Technologies on Apr 10, 2012 08:53 AM  | Hide replies

Replay showed his bat was in air when the bails were dislodged, but he was declared in. This changed the decision. Did Bhajji talk about this ?

captain plays for the team and should not be the one hiding behind the team in time of crisis!! - we need captains like this who at least shows his emotions and has the guts to call a spade a spade - probably we need somebody like him rather than ultra cool one that we have now - good on adds - bit not on field - will do the team a lot better - if he concentrate on his fielding and batting and leave the rest to the serious people

PTI journalism is getting worst
by Varun Kumar Chintakindi on Apr 10, 2012 03:52 AM  | Hide replies

/*came rushing in to the umpires and apparently 'told' Cloete why he did not go upstairs for a third umpire decision.*/ - why would bhajji 'told' instead of 'asked'? Again /*manner, apparently 'telling' them why they did not refer the decision to the third umpire. */ - shouldn't it be 'asking'? - These mistakes are so often these days. Even though english is not mother tongue or whatever but when you are publishing, you are expected to at least do some grammar and spell check.
