IPL Should be banned
by Naveen Haldhar on Apr 07, 2012 12:39 PM  | Hide replies

Garibi ka mazak hai IPL, late night parties, all illigal stuffs are there during IPL matches. These arrogant players are becoming more arrogant, they are loosing national feelings, Loosing badly in the international matches. Taking retirement just to fullfil the dream of getting more richer in short time. It should be banned immediatly but who will listen to common and innocent public. They are doing whatever they wants to do. I have a doubt whether matches are fixed or not. Its a open Bazar and every one is free to earn through whatever mode available. I am great cricket fan and watching England Vs Srilanka test match but not watching IPL. I have stopped watching it for the last 2 years. Its simply a wastage of time. I don't think anybody has a feeling for any frenchise. There shouldn't be any national collective celebrations which ever frenchise win but when country win everyone gets involve in celebrations be it housewife or kids, old or young everyone! I really don't want this feeling to end. When India lost to England and Australia badly whole nation was in state of shock but if Mumbai Indians or any frenchise loose no one even respective frenchise's people wouldn't be in sad mood except the frenchise owners. So work in order to ban IPL and best way for that is too stop watching it.

there is one line for you.. they were not responsible if someone is poor..its govt who should step up to narrow the gap bwt rich and poor. Due to IPL many small vendors to big ..all r getting benifit. It looks like u only see the top side of money churning..not at bottom.. Anyway, its ur thought process.. but for me and so as many others..its a good entertainment and we r loving it.

And abt India's performance..if u r counting out test series debacle, then u also should count our glory as WC winner..which came after 28yrs..that is also part of IPL success..Jai Hind

then what u want to do for entertinment.. people r going to watch 3hrs show (be a movie or T20 IPL), let them decide what they want to do...who r u judge them..

By the way, if we go by ur logic, then we will stop watching all sports..so as rest of world..Dont worry..individual choice has been different for time to time.. You decide your case, let others decide their..

If you r upset, please dont visit cricket forum or dont turn on to any cricket channel..its very simple..

I am not deciding anything what o do or not, but, I just want to say only one thing is if you want entertainment then go ahead and watch any thing you want but don't blame an one for this. if you are watching this for entertainment then they are playing for money, then who are to to say tha our players are not playing for our country.
If you ahve to note then look at the colum in HT, Ravindra jadeja is what earning in one season is dravid earnind in his 16 years career.

Dear friend, things ve been changed drmatically over the years.. If Im not wrong,I can still remember in mid 80s when I was a kid, my dad who was working as officer rank in govt was earning 5k per month..will you imgine what is the value of 5k today?

If you adjust inflation over period of time, in early 80s, Rs100 is equivalent to Rs 5000 today. So, in order to say that if you adjust Dravid's earning in past 16yrs..it will be in millions due inflation and depreciation of our currency.

Dear Surya, first you go to your dad and confirm the salary figure you have given here. In the 80's 5k was too much and no one was getting this amount as a salary. Secondly I agree on Harish's comment. We Indian's really lack patriotism. We should all boycot IPL because its the game responsible for making our players money minded rather then patriotic for the country. The way they lost to England and Australia they should have punished by us. If we boycot IPL the organisers will surely think of stopping it. For us National team and feelings should come first. If you really want entertainment there are many other ways through which you can be entertained. IPL shouldn't be the only source of entertainment for you. Go and watch movie rather. If I were the prime minister I would have banned IPL first. Also why these corrupt politicians are so involved with cricket you know very well. Sharad Power must not be aware of "C" of cricket but he is the ICC president. You should have national feelings first.

Mr Naveen, no need to ask..as I said mid 80s (around 1987), a officier rank in central govt. employee was earning 5k. You would rather check your fact when u said no one was getting that much sal.

Secondly, IPL never be responsible for players be money minded rather it shows that if other sports or sports person can earns in millions then why not cricket? Secondly, you only see players or BCCI people earning money but u never see how those people who ve small food stall putting up next to stadium, or hotel industries or travel industry and many more r equally getting benefit from this.

I only agreed one line from ur message that non cricketing people or politicians should not allow into its governing body.. but when it comes to franshise owners..im fine with them.

How did you arrive the conclusion that they didnot ve national feelings?
R u an mind reader or astrologer?

In the opener of IPL - V, MI did not win. The fact is that CSK lost.

Much the same for flash in the pan victory of PW. They did not win. It was MI's turn to lose, sort of poetic....

The endowed will appreciate the facts, ordinary mortals will crow and cry.

IPL is 100% commercial entertainment show to promote products of consumer comnpanies, real estate firms and banks/financial companies who will be selling their substandard products through this tournament , and teams and players play according to the wishes of the players behind the game.

Every game is fixed in this tournament. Also, every match is equally boring as the same old comic story.

when u say every game is fixed.. then it shows how badly you ve been utilising ur brain and mind. Come out of this fixing mind, then you will realise that if one or two persons r theif in a village, we cant justify by saying that this is a village of thiefs..

hahaha Big joke.

KapilDev is the only captain brought a worldcup to India. Dont consider wc won under Dhoni is credible. It is Indian pitch and only South Asian countries can win wc. Already rumour is spreading that semifinal between India and Pak is fixed so dont talk about Dhoni's captaincy.

Yes ofcourse as an Individual Ganguly's performance is dipped but he performed average and not bad. But as a captain he performed above expectations. He motivated several new players.

Dont ever forget that he is the first guy motivated and mentored several newcomers and those new comers are glittering now. In ODI Ganguly performed much better than Dravid in abroad. so dont compare Dravid with him.
