Srikanth- The tamil don;t like Rahane, Rayudu and Pujara
by sreenivasulu reddy on Sep 27, 2011 09:50 PM  | Hide replies

Srikanth has too much tamil feelings. He don;t want to give opportunities to players like Rahane, Pujara or Rayudu. Instead he is more happy to invest on Mukund, Vijay or Dinesh Karthik or his son. The only reason why india lost to England that badly was due to Srikanth;s selections. He keen selecting his pets and England kicked them like anything. You can imagine how bad the selection was. It is due to Srikanth politics, indian team morale was down.

Reddy ghadu,

Indian team to england had 10 north indians. so they lost badly.. if it had 10 south indian then india would have won the series easily. lazy north indian simply retire showing fake injuries

I agree that some of the selections are questionable in nature like Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina, Sehwag and Zaheer Khan. At the same time selection of Mukund killed the whole team. Srikanth should have opted for Rahane, A Rayudu and Pujara in the first place

Well I don't think you can hang the failure on Mukund...

Just like the success of Rahane in odos does not mean he would succeed in Tests. His Ranji performance does indicate that but not odos.

For example while Raina did well in odos - he was beyond words in tests and totally out of his league there.

There was only one Tamil in the test team , Mukund . India certainly didn't lose the series 4-0 because of him . He didn't even play the last two tests . In the ODI s , again , there was only one Tamil , Ashwin and he deserved his place in the team . So , was Sreekanth's "Tamil sentiments " the cause ? Let's forget all these stupid parochial sentiments for some time . The selection wasn't good , because a few inappropriate players were sent , but a regoinal bias wasn't present .

Have you gone out of your mind? Get your facts right about how many tamilnadu players were there in the team that toured England. Only Mukund played in first 2 tests and Ashwin played (which he deserves) in the ODIs. So go and read the old newspaper and come here to comment.

how Sad
by Suresh B on Sep 27, 2011 09:24 PM

a quality opening batsman is forced to say he will bat 'anywhere'- perhaps he knows the fickle ways of BCCI. Maybe the opening slot is reserved for some selector's progeny or some other politician's chamcha?

need to line up the all good bowlers for program to be number 1
by D S on Sep 27, 2011 09:05 PM

praveen, ishant, varun aaron, sresanth, etc. See who does well in the program and who is fit.

Same for batting. Videshis do the same, they kicked out tremlett and got bresnan who was more precise with speed, swing, ball landing, etc.

As we write, angrez are lining up peitersen, etc to upset the line and lenght of indian bowlers.

Rahane deserves his place in Indian team under all forms of cricket. Hope Captain Dhoni's dirty politics of playing his fav players like Raina, Jadeja, Vijay etc. should not spoil this promising youngster's career.

Rahane

Rahane acquitted himself very well in the opportunities he got in England. He has a sound technique. I only wish the selection committee does not dump him with out giving him enough opportunities to establish himself. He should be selected in all future Indian teams so that he can be alongside the greats and learn and improve his game, even if he does not get a chance to play in the first XI.
