Akhtar and Tendulkar

Soaib Akhtar DID NOT say that Tendulkar is not a genius. Where did he say this in his book?

I would like to point out one fact which people are not getting. Akhtar DID NOT say that Tendulkar was not a genius, he never said that. He ONLY said that Tendulkar has not been able to show himself as a dependable player who can win a match for the team. Being a genius is different from being a match winner. Why people are misinterpreting the texts?

akhtar & his book

He has come out of his heart. there is nothing wrong in it. honestly sachin is a selfish crickteer. he more worried about his career and his health. how many times he has ducked out of imp. tourneys on fitness ground.
he more worried about his records. but i cannot agree with respect to dravid. he is a n honest player unlike sachin.

Hahahaha....cricket and cricketers...hahahahaha...

One need not be a fan of this Pakistani bowler (former, rather) but the only plausible reason for the epidemic of hysteria is that we've made such demigods of a bunch of undeserving, mediocre, flannelled pretenders that even a whiff of criticism is sufficient to prick our balloonish egos. Shoaib Akhtar's comments on many be unpalatable, but it isn't as if he has picked on Indian criketers only. His own former teammates haven't been spared either. And if "emerging superpower" India can't stomach a dose of criticism, well, that says a lot. Opinions expressed in books are just that, the opinion of that individual. They can be easily rebutted with an equally effective counter-iteration of facts, but one must be in possession of those facts to be able to mount an effective rebuttal. Else, screaming and burning effigies isn't going to prove anything else apart from handing publicity on a platter. And truth be told, match-fixing is now big-time part of the cricketing establishment, bigger games are played off the field, and yes, BTW, India's so-called cricketing "heroes" are little else apart from self-declared gods (with earthern legs and mollycoddled by an indulgent media with neatly divided camp-following panegrysts), flat track bullies and a pompous lot at home, but utterly incapable of meeting even the basic rigors of modern sport, struggling to beat even pedestrian opposition. That's the truth. Effigy-burning will not change that.
