It is not an open secret that Pakistan are way ahead of us in match fixing, spot fixing, ball tampering, cheating, etc. That is the only pride (if at all they term it that way) Pakis can enjoy :)

You are absolutely right

"To be frank, the confidence level was low. But I can say that the team fought to win every match even more than it had during the World Cup".. but also add that your God Fathers had FIXED the World cup; BCCI TEAM = MONEY CHAMPS

What logic is this? Ashwin's statement was about sports in particular cricket. In sports one team loses and one wins. You cannot ask the team do do airline pilot.

not prepared before the start of tour to face the challenge
by mohammedabdul nazir on Sep 19, 2011 04:59 PM

India lost the series in England because they had not prepared well before the start of the tour. The Indian team thought as this is an another series and they can beat England easily in both format. as Indian team don't know that the England team was waiting for them to take revenge. so anyway learn from this mistake and be prepare for the next series and give more chance to youngsters so that they can come out with flying colors and perform well and do good for the India

indians brain likes numbers.
there is no sport in the world that as much related to numbers as cricket.
ckt has runs, wkts, centurys, overs etc all related to maths.because of this most of software engineers from ind love ckt.

You certainly have a point (which probably not many thought about before). Anyhow, I can add that this craze started in 1983 after India won the cricket world cup first time. At that time India was bad in every other sport. Hockey particularly was at decline. Moreover India was only the 2nd country to win Cricket work cup. Every child (in india) started playing cricket and that increased the craze. Also, Cricket was played by only 8 countries getting 3rd or 4th ranking was (is) not so difficult. On one hand it feels good to be at 4th spot but on other hand you are only a mediocre.

Re: However Hard they tried

Infact, this attack was the worst I have seen in more than 30 years of Indian Cricket. They neither have the brain nor the brawn to put any fear in the minds of english batsmen. After waiting for hours in the field while our bowlers leaked runs, the batsmen also could get back to their competitive best against the best bowling lineup the world has today. So the failure was indeed initiated by our poor bowling attack. BCCI needs to address this issue of bench strength in bowling department immediately. Otherwise we will face this humuliation for long time.
