IPL Fixing
by aus on Sep 19, 2011 04:45 PM  | Hide replies

The Kochi owners and Bcci are hand in glove to move the franchise to Ahmedabad.
This is only the first move for that aim.
Just sit back and enjoy the tamasha.
Next the team owners will say they cannot make money unless they move to Ahmedabad.
BCCI will ofcourse agree in the end.
The only thing that has to be seen if the franchise will even change its name.

You sound right. This seems to be preplanned considering the fact that Kochi owners were so desparate to move to Ahd, stating umpteen reasons like lack of stadium, poor ground revenue etc.

Now their path is wide open.

BCCI has mastered the art of fooling people.

Stupid Morons, Kochi Owners got team over Ahmedaad. Ahmedabad was tried by Gujarati businessmen and moraly backed by Narendra Modi. However Congressi lobby in BCCI (pawar and Rajeev Shukla) didn't want it. Do you think now when Rajeev Shukla the IPL chairman will allow team to move to Ahmedbad.

These bloddy congressis just want to exploit money from tax payer's money.

Plan by Sreenivasan
by Nandu S on Sep 19, 2011 04:44 PM  | Hide replies

This decision by Sreenivasan shows why he should not be BCCI President while being the chairman of one of the IPL teams, Chennai. He really doesn’t want Kochi team to eat into the fan base of Chennai team. Many in Kerala were fans of Chennai before Kochi team was formed. Now having scrapped Kochi team he will have a bigger fan base for Chennai team and thus make more money for himself. Really bothers me why no separation of duty or such controls exist in such big organizations like BCCI with so much in stake including the pride of a nation. We now have BCCI President, chief selector, Captain and supposed to be future captain, all from Chennai team.

I think it is cool to bash Srinivasan/Srikkkanth for everything in indian cricket. It must be a news to Srini that CSK's fan base extends to KL and that by killing kochi, CSK will benefit ! imagination running wild. The plain fact is that promoters want to shift to ah'bad from mallu land where cricket will never thrive. Get a break guys...

IPL

Ban IPL altogether. Enough of this baseball brand of cricket which is not even remotely cricket.

IPL is a money spinner and look at how BCCI prez Srinivasan owns an IPL franchise. If this is not conflict of interests, then what is?

BCCI increasingly gives priority to T20 leagues and doesnt care if the national team is shamed like the way it happened in England. If the priorities have really changed, it is better not to play Tests/ODIs anymore.

Suresh...there is no National team. BCCI is a private club misusing national name for money.

Kochi and IPL

Can we expect another round of litigation, which will force BCCI to eat humble pie and re-instate the team ? BCCI has always been known as bunglers in all official and legal matters (and are known only for money laundering and tax evasion).

Indian public can make a big contribution by not going to stadiums to watch any match. They should also not see ant matches on TV.Likes of Gavaskars,Shastris etc.will never agree to this. But IPL is ruining Indian Cricket.Time gap between International matches is to take rest so that players are fit mentaly any physicaly. So just buycott all this Tamash CRICKET.

one dont cut the hand if the fingers are paining. IPL is not the issue but the way it is managed.First and foremost thing needed is to make it every alternate year rather that every year. this will give our players space to breath.Do not forget IPL has helped so many youngsters who has given their whole childhood practicing at net for better future. Good to see they are getting something in return. Another important thing is you dont need to tell others what they should see. I and many million indian love this sport and we will continue to watch it. Just becuase some one love hockey or football can not ask others to stop watching cricket.Third most imp thing is if you really want hockey to grow then immediately stop this nonsense of comparing hockey and cricket. Cricket has never come to you and asked dont see hockey. Has it? Never. Its people who love to watch cricket. Remember 1975. Hockey was much ahead in popularity but could not keep the pace. Its because of better management and marketing of the game by the governing body, cricket has gone way ahead. Blame those hockey federations instead of blaming cricket for not doing anything good in last 4 decades when there were so many followers for hockey. Instead of hating ckricket , try to analyse and learn why this game has grown so much. Sponsors will always follow where people are. They are not charity organizations. Sponsors are answerable for the money they invest. So stop begging if u r a real hockey lover
