Dhoni as a batsman Test Avg over all 37.0, Test avg overseas 28.0, No overseas century or match winning inning in test carrer even after playing 61 test. T-20 intnl avg- 25, Strike rate- 105, No fifty or match winning inning in entirer career even after playing 27 matches ODI- Good avg manipulated due to no. of not out innings & manipulative batting position. Even in ODI most runs scored on flat indian wicket against team like Pak/SLK & no overseas century. As a wicketkeeper- Dropped catches in almost every match.
Dhoni test average outside In WI 2006, 24 In SA 2006, 26 In AUS 2007, 17.62 In SA 2011, 35.8 ( one inning of 90 when styen/morkel was kept out of attack for 2-3 hrs) In WI 2011- 19.5 ( score of 0,16,2, 5 & 74(only one good inning when WI was operating with bowlers like bishoo/chandrapaul & front line bowler rampaul/shammi etc was resting due to injury). In Eng 2011- 30.0 (present series)
As a captain good record only on indian pitches. Overseas he has lost more test matches(06) than what he won(05)

suppandi i have never ever said in my life that dhoni wins matches for india ''single-handedly''. but people like you always say that sachin wins matches for india ''single-handedly'' and you people really seem to believe that statement...
when i say i dont think sachin is the greatest or best player either in world or india, according to ''logic'' of people of your type it means that according to me dhoni is the world's and india's greatest batsman. that's the type of people i am fighting against...

suppandiji, we saw how good or bad he was in the last 2 odis and before that we also saw it in the wc final. while playing on the biggest stage the biggest occasion the final of wc under pressure and under a stiff target sachin as usual was out early. and it was left to new geenration players gambhir, kohli, dhoni yuvraj to take india home safely and comfortably without breaking a sweat inspite of another sachin failure.
even in the last 2 odis after the losses we have suffered most captains or players would have broken down. yet dhoni without his normal first choice team and with 4 down for not much again played to fantastic innings of 69 and 78 to show that he is as good as ever not bowling down under pressure but in fact soaking the pressure and excelling in it...
you people felt that he cannot bat in england. he not only batted well but batted well under extreme pressure. all due to his winner's attitude. he is a true fighter and will never give up.
as for captain needing a good team suppandi it seems that either you have not read or conveniently forgotten as usual that i have said many many many times that though captain is as good as his team it is also true that a bad captain will make that good team look ordinary while a good/great captain will take that good team to the next (higher) level...

suppandi do you really believe that if dhoni was not a player and captain in the last 5-6 years we would have reached where we are today?
if for the last 5-6 years we had any other normal average indian wicket keeper like we used to have before dhoni's coming would we be where we are today?
if for the last 5-6 years somebody other than dhoni was captain and player in the team, say either dravid, laxman, ganguly, kumble, sehwag, gambhir, sachin etc were captain and instead of dhoni if your normal average indian wicketkeeper batsman like patel, saha, karthik, uthappa, dravid, kirmani, more, mongia, or whoever you want, would we really be where we are today? do you really think any other wicketkeeper than dhoni could bat and captain as brilliantly as dhoni. maybe he would keep as well as dhoni but can be he bat and captain as well as dhoni?
if dhoni was not there in the team do you really believe we would have become no. 1 ranked test team and/or lasted so long, the no. 1 odi team, would we have won the tri series in aus and many series and tournaments win afterwards, the T20 WC 2011 odi WC?
ask yourself this questions and try to honestly and without bias...
