I'm not sure what the bloated-egos that make up the BCCI leadership proved by restraining their players from attending such an event. If they are claiming they simply did not know about the function that points to gross incompetence. If they are reacting to some backroom drama or some perceived administrative lapse, that is just small-minded. Regardless of the reason(s) this action of the BCCI just goes to show that all the money in the world cannot buy class.
Invitation on 26-Aug-11 was too late?? Maybe there was no cash prize with the awards. That is why our team gave it a miss. So humble and professional.....!

Good that BCCI gave a alap to ICC.It is time TO Ban Test Cricket FOREVER to save indian economy& to save hindustan itself from misery&poverty too.All Indians who watched this & last TEST must ask themselves whether they have NOT wasted so many hours&caused the country billions of dollars by wasting productive time for nation-building or NOT!?Shame one billion people are still continuing with playing boring& time wastingTests&,etc,WE must launch a national agitation to BAN TEST matches&3 Day&ODI Matches FOREVER. India& poor countries MUST ban Test Cricket& 3 day macthes forever&Play ONLY ODI matches T20 matches On Holidays or Week_ends ONLY so that millions of man or woman hours are NOT lost watching monotonous Test cricket& 3 day macthes,etc.It is possible that This game of cricket lasting many days was invented by British looters like inventing british double agent mahatma gandhee& dirty trick of non-violence, to fool people of colonies& to make them lazy&morrrons FOREVER too by addciting them with all types of dirty tricks.
It is Kapil Dev who spoiled Indian cricket. He only started ICL, a competitor to BCCI. Then BCCI promoted IPL to counter Kapil's ICL. Now it is taking havoc on Indian Players' health. Kapil is the root cause.

India& poor countries MUST ban Test Cricket& 3 day macthes forever&Play ONLY ODI matches T20 matches On Holidays or Week_ends ONLY so that millions of man or woman hours are NOT lost watching monotonous Test cricket& 3 day macthes,etc.It is possible that This game of cricket lasting many days was invented by British looters like inventing british double agent mahatma gandhee& dirty trick of non-violence, to fool people of colonies& to make them lazy&morrrons FOREVER too by addciting them with all types of dirty tricks. BCCI& rulers are still behaving as slaves of Westerners, shame they have appointed white skinned westerners as coach,etc paying millions of dollars though we have excellent indian coaches like jimmy amarnath, madan lal,etc who can do better jobs than foreigners.BCCI& government must NOT allow more than 2 foreign players in each team&Give greater opportunity to indians.Shame that BCCI& rulers are behaving as slaves of westerners even now or are they getting huge kick-backs in the deals involving forein players,etc,Millions of cricket fans mustNOT allow our country to be looted again by foreigners&foreign agents.Hope millions of indians are listening& give justice to indian public& to national honour&pride too.
BCCI has spoiled Indian cricket. Its good India lost England series. Else, arrogance would gone into their heads. IPL should be banned. BCCI should be taken over by the Govt.

If BCCI taken by govt- then player like dhoni, lalu son, mulayam son, mayawati son only will be playing in final eleven as happening in other sports federation controlled by govt. Player will not even get monthly salary
it is not arrogance, India dont want to be slaved after being cheated by ICC umpires in last match. cheating is ongoing. Swann went to zoo (referring to Nasir's dDonkey comment)and he said to have good time in zoo . After all, the dDonkey Ravi Bopara saved the day for angrez.
