Indian batting cannot face what Angrez
has to offer if India bowlers at the nets (and practice pitches in
India) cannot produce the same or better (to win), be it pace (145
km/hr) speed, swing, bounce, fast spin, etc. Panesar gave lot of
practice to Angrez and Swann learned a lot from bowlers like Afridi,
panesar, etc. RP could have been better than bowlers India tried.

Re: barrington

Right; the two batsmen were Ken Barrington and Brian Bolus. Apart from the statistics and Nadkarni's display of stamina, there wasn't much good coming out of this. The English players were badly hit by dysentery and there weren't sufficiently fit batsmen to bat. Therefore, as a strategy, the Englishmen decided to play for time thus giving their sick teammates more time to recover. It would have been more useful to India, if we had taken more wickest even at the cost of a few more runs. We would have had a better chance of winning the game. All five tests of this series were drawn.

Thanks, P.B.Mohan

Not exactly in scrap list, but put him on bench for some times. He of late has become larger than his actual stature.

A good cricketer in modern days must be greatly involved in batting, fielding / wicket-keeping, and bowling also.
