AUS SERIES:FAREWELL SERIES FOR SACHIN AND LAXMAN ?
by damodaran mohan on Oct 29, 2011 04:42 PM

While admitting that possibly this is the best TEST team the selectors cold have picked under the present circumstances it is time for the selectors and BCCI to ack. that unless they look forward and plan for retiring the OLDIES and inducting youngsters right from this day, the prospects of Indian TEST side are not very bright. Agreed that likes of Sachin, Dravid and Laxman have rendered great service to Indian cricket but any efforts by BCCI to extend careers of these veterans will only delay building of a young TEST side. Based on their present forms only Dravid can be given another yr or yr and a half extension till some youngsters are groomed to take over from him. Clearly Sachin and Laxman are over the hill and given their stature it is only fair that they are offered the Australian series as their "farewell' series so that they are retired honorably. It is good that selectors seem to have started long term succession plan of ‘pacers’ by induction of young pace bowlers. It would have been better if on the spin side also at least for the WI series the deadly combination of one dayers of Ashwin-Jadeja had been prolonged. That would have given better idea about their utility for the TESTS.

Players like Sachin, VVS, Dravid etc should be rested while playing against WIndies (they are week, were stuggling against bangladesh). THese players should be picked against Australia (when aussi name comes...some of them Youvi, Sawag esp. will skip ....injury). Selectors wale up and take timely decisions...if Indian teams has to be prepared for future.....

Who cares for Test Cricket except some money bag oldies???&cxooked westerners???The recent exciting OneDay Matches and T20 matches, compared to boring&time-wasting Test Cricket MUST Open the Eyes of Fans&Government NOW.India&ALL Poor countries Must BAN Test Cricket &PLay Only ODI& short cricket Matches to prevent more poverty,misery&under-development. Cricket Fans&Sponsors MUST Dump Test Crciket in interest of the development of the Nation &to increase productivity of the citizens too.The Time-wasting Test Cricket, 3 Day Crciket, etc was invented by crooked British Colonizers, like inventing Mahatma gandhee, the british double agent&non-violence to make People of Colonies Lazy&Morrons&vegtables& POOR Forever. The ODI matches&T20 match provided thrilling Cricket Unlike the Monotonous& Time-Wasting TEST CRICKET which has wasted Millions of man or woman hours of our country& MADE US POORER too&this wastage of millions of working hours has been happending for the past 500 years& MORE& that is why we indians are 50 years behind China which does NOT have this anti-national time-westing game of TEST CRICKET.What a shame that patriotic citizens and leaders have NOT BANNED such a time-wasting game as TEST CRICKET&NOT enacted the law which states that ONLY ODI or short versions oc criket macthes MUST be played ONLY During Week-ends orHolidays so that our country does NOT become another african poor nation soo
