There is no mention of Ashwin by the skipper eventhough he had a good game... Clear case of skippers likings for Northies :)

All Out in 37 overs is a BIG shame
by george thomas on Oct 27, 2011 08:07 AM

All Out in 37 overs is a BIG shame for any team ... Just 95 runs victory doesn't give the correct picture.
I am sure even ZIM or Kenya would do better

This is all a big BS

This doesn't make any sense. Normally 5-0 victory over any team would call for a great celebration and feel great sense of pride.

But this particular victory against England despite being thrashed horribly literally few weeks ago doesn't sound exciting at all. Its actually more confusing than exciting.

I think these one sided series white wash are really boring. I doubt, the visiting teams simply don't want to try specially NZ, Eng, perhaps due to lack of motivation or something else. They hardly ever send full strength team to the visiting countries.

It is a given that if you are playing out of your home country, there is a lot of adjustments need to be made and you need to put more effort than normal routine preparations.

If you are going to be paid the same amount of money whether you pay at home or elsewhere, I wonder where the motivation will come from. Just saying "we need to have a good overseas" record or "should be #1 in ICC chart" does not cut it.

End of the day, these players are making lot of sacrifies and take a lot on their bodies to keep playing. They simply cannot wake up every morning with the same amount of enthusiasm. The cricket boards need to take such things into consideration and make winning outside home more lucrative, set definite objectives/goals. Tie them up to certain monetary benefits etc rather than making it look like another mundane series

Dhoni
by Anand on Oct 26, 2011 05:00 PM

Dhoni is the best captain India has ever seen. The way he accelerated the score yesterday was amazing. He has become a great finisher. Swan is rated as the best spinner today and he wasn't effective on turning Indian pitches while Jadeja did far better than him. Is Swan the best? None of the England players played spin well. They have the best spinner and they can't play spin. England should get ready to lose T20 game too.

'ALAS!'tair Cooked!
by prajyoth pradeep on Oct 26, 2011 12:44 PM

'ALAS!'tair Cook says India have struggled in our conditions also. Does he forget that India won the previous test series in England in 2007 and should have won that 2-0 had Dravid been more ruthless. Does he forget that India have won one-day series and chased down 300 targets 3 or 4 times! Does he forget that they won against a rag tag injured-a-day Indian side in England few weeks back.. plus the rain also helped them immensely! Why do these guys cry and whine about conditions..conditions.. conditions. Is England in another planet or what. Their batting conditions in one day matches are the best for batting. The ball does not seam forget turn there. The ball comes at the right height and comes onto the bat nicely. In test matches there are seaming pitches but their batsmen will also have to face the same pitch! Yes England played well in England but Indian injuries and rain helped them greatly. They did not beat India there as India beat them hands down here.
