WORLD CHAMPIONS NEED TO WIN UNDER ALL CONDITIONS
by damodaran mohan on Oct 27, 2011 02:29 PM  | Hide replies

The one sided clean sweep for the hosts on the two India-England series defy all logic and raise many questions. If one leaves out the Tests played in England where the English did look decisively superior,as far as One dayers is concerned the two sides appear to be evenly matched in spite of the one sided results. In England perhaps the Indian bowling looked weaker while in India the English bowling lacked the bite due to absence of its two top bowlers. However one difference was that in England the Indians batted better as compared to the Englishmen in India where they could not adjust to the local conditions of the wicket. To that extent the Indians look slightly superior and but for the rain interruptions the final margin in England could have been closer. But the Indians as world champions will have to mould themselves to win anywhere and everywhere irrespective of conditions. For that the bowling, the pace attack needs to be suitably geared up to meet such challenges So, the upcoming young fast bowlers need to be groomed to deliver under varying conditions. It remains to be seen how the selectors are going to meet this challenge.

very bad analysis.... dont forget that during england tour we had 7 players injured and being more than half a team unprepared for the game we did exceptionally well in odi. in india also we didnt had our regular bowlers so in that situation also we crushed england. on the contrary England was a fresh team o India's tour and they were morally high. so both they teams were not evenly matched, we outplayed England under all circumstances is what the true victory for us.
so MR DAMODARAN u have got a very bad analysis.. sorry to say.

Jadeja and Bell exchanged words as the two teams left the field after the tourists’ dismal collapse, and then Dernbach, who was not playing in the game, appeared to become involved - Arrogant English team want more comments like this from Dhoni.

Moral: Always remember that Winning and loosing is part of the game.

How can one guage the strength of the team. Does it mean that if India had played the world cup in England, India would have lost it or vic versa India had won the WC bcoz in home ground. It is boring. Champion hast to be champion irrespective of locations, conditions.

Boring Series
by digant pathak on Oct 27, 2011 09:41 AM

Whatever Dhoni may say, this was one of the most meaningless series. Watching them was waste of time. Two teams playing contineously against each other for three long months...So Boring
