Why should it disappoint Dhoni or anyone? Their match payment & advertisement payment is not based on half full stadiums.

what u want ??? the common man leave all other things and just keeps on watching cricket all the time ???

the more amount of cricket u play the less number of fans turn up to watch it!!!!!!

there should be a limit for everything!!!!!

and this will happen more and more in future if the same amount of cricket dished out to indian fans!!!!!!

Yes IPL matches are more interseting than boring ODI series.
No stadium was fully packed

Mahesh, what is wrong with that? When ur state is not playing in ur ground, who is interested to watch it? But frankly, i was also surprised to see so many empty stands. Dhoni may be a better person to give reasons why this happened :-)

Half Full Stadium
by Kumar Chakraborthy on Oct 24, 2011 03:18 PM  | Hide replies

I think the reason behind it was that there was nobody fr. Mumbai in the Indian team other than Rahanne. 2ndly there was no Tendulkar(was busy with Madhuri Dixit in some Program). But who is bothered. As long as India is winning here is no worry. Mumbains should worry because there was a time when Indian Cricket was full of Mumbai players. But nowadays mostly its fr. South & small states like Jharkhand etc. Further Mumbai are also not doing weel in Ranji Trophy. So mumbaikars should start appreciating other state players like they did for Bhajji in IPL when he was the Mumbai Indians captain.

That's try there used to be 6-7 players in Indian team more than a decade ago... now the game has spread so much, good and talented cricketers are coming from non-metros, non-capitals also. But one thing for sure, when Sachin retires from the game there will be drastic fall in number of spectators.

DHONI has become the YES man for BCCI

empty stand - dhoni says fans are tired. Then the BCCI should give it for free OR peanuts cost to the fans. Let's see if the IF the fans DO NOT come. they just don't have the PAIN to see the empty stands PLUS they do not have the CREATIVITY to give something free when they are NOT able to SELL

IT IS ALL THE RESULT OF BOUGHT-UP AFFAIRS! AT LEAST 50% OF INDIANS SEEM TO BE UNDERSTANDING THIS AND I APPRECIATE THAT! REST OF THE MAD FANS ARE STILL KEEN TO WITNESS THE CORPORATE SPONSORED INSTRUCTION CRICKET!

GONE ARE THE DAYS WHEN THERE WAS KEEN CONTEST BETWEEN PAKISTAN AND INDIA PLAYED TRULY ON MERITS (THE RECORDS, HEAD TO HEAD STANDINGS SPEAK THEMSELVES) BARRING WORLD CUP EVENTS WHICH WOULD BE BOUGHT UP BY CASH RICH AND GREEDY BCCI...

ANYHOW CRICKET SEEMS TO SLOWLY DYING IN YOUR COUNTRY AND I APPRECIATE THE ENLIGHTENMENT (THOUGHT LATE) BY YOUR PEOPLE!

ABSOLUTELY MATE! AND THE ENGLISH WICKET-KEEPER SEEMS TO BE THE KEY MAN IN THE AFFAIRS! YOU COULD SEE THE WAY HE MISSED THE RUN OUT CHANCE IN THE PREVIOUS MATCH! HE BROKE THE STUMPS WITH HIS LEGS AND IT LOOKED VERY INTENTIONAL (COULD NOT ENACT PROPERLY, ON THE OTHER HAND INDIAN CRICKETERS ARE MASTERS OF INSTRUCTION CRICKET). LOTS OF DROP CATCHES BY ENGLISH PLAYERS LOOKED PRETTY FIXED TO EYES!

AFTER ALL THIS IS WHAT THEY (BCCI) BEEN DOING ONCE THEY GOT THE BOOSTER OF CORPORATES (WHO IN TURN EAT MONEY FROM MAD CITIZENS)

In india in future all games are comming, best example comming weekend we have F1 maiden race at Noida (the whole world know that even after 1 century your country is not going to have such remarkable sports fecility....). not only F1, we have Tennis tournament(ATP), and soon motogp Bike race also comming...so shut your mouth and try to get the tickt to watch what ever games you want from india.
