Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi was one of the greatest cover point fielders. He used to stop hard hit shots at least 20 feet on his left and 20 feet on his right covering lot of ground quickly. He was really like a tiger. It was a treat to watch him.
Pataudi ought to know that only dead bodies blood is blue- he was morally dead even then much before he started killing hapless blackbucks- so much for a Tiger!
He was not only a fine player but a leader with brains. He could get the batsman by playing to his weakness. Who can forget the great fightback against Super West indies in 1974 from 2-0 down when Venkat captained to 2-2 under his leadership before board decided for a 6 days test which we lost on day Six after tea break. Tiger in his true witty comment complimented board for being a good host.

While discussing cricket. Do not discuss anything irrational. Nobody forced sharmila to marry TIGER. SHE was trhe person who was runing for pataudi and everybody knows that. So be a bit rational rather than being the fouth Idi......

Hey have you seen him play. I doubt it. The comment about religion is stupidly irrelevant.

Deepak u need to see a psychiatrist ASAP.It makes me sad that Tiger has been linked to religious comment which he abhorred all his life.Let us not ridicule few true heroes that our country can boast of with such pettiness.
Yes. He was a Tiger on the field and a thorough gentleman of it. Andy Roberts cleverly exploited his sight problems and bowled incutters. The 73 at chepauk against tony lewis's England in 74-75 was a flawless knock. Tolcahrd was placed on the long on boundry and Pockock tempted him with a flighted delivery. Only to be caught. That was the only way to get him out . Caught on the boundry.

Yes. The 73 against England in his comeback match was at Chennai in 1973 and I had been lucky to watch this ennings. Sadly there was no encore in 74-75 series against West Indies except 5 continous boudnaries against Van Holder

very ordinary cricketer in an age of extraordinary ones, really. Appointing Pataudi as India captain superseding many senior players itself talks abt the suck up mentality of Indians, which still exists as Indians worship the Nehru Gandhis for no reason.
