Dhyan Chand-Bradman of hockey should have given this award who single handedly won 3 Olympic gold medals for India.Giving BR to Sachin will be great insult to this magician of hockey.
I think Bala Saheb is right this time that Sachin does not deserve Bharat Ratna. Sachin is yet to prove to the world that he is a role model to youngesters. He is yet to rise above his selfish needs and can really come of age. He needs to come out of the self-supporting web of BCCI Officials/Advertisers/Media - who all need him for their own survival and ensure that Sachin remains as an Icon of Indian cricket. Time and money are with him to contribute a lot more for the nation. Bharat Ratna can certainly wait for him.
Viswanath Anand deserves more than Sachin, Sachin not only achieven personal records. Anand has won many world titles compared to Sachin one world cup. to all the people who are talking about the Bharat Ratna to Sachin should shut their mouths including the Shukla.

Agree with rsjr and Thackeray.By evading Tax on Ferrari and selling a Gift is not what Bharat Ratna holder normally do.

Agree with you too, maniappa. For being confered Bharat Ratnas, you need to be Homiciders, Killers (like for eg Indira, Rajiv etc.)
