when tendulkar and dravid retires from international cricket ..then i would watch cricket for suresh raina.he is a good entertainer. i think he is the one who can perform in all the formats of the game. infact he is the only indian to have scored centuries in three formats.

Yes, the youngsters are proving themselves. In Virat Kohli we have the future Captaincy material. He seems dynamic and has a level head on his shoulders.

Rather surprised why Uthappa was recalled to Tema 20. Should have tried the Mumbai player Valthaty.

PATHETIC
by ajay bhathire on Oct 18, 2011 06:40 PM  | Hide replies

This is pathetic. Just because India won 2 matches in the Indian flat pitches, they started to hail Indian players as hereos. 2 weeks ago almost everyone was against his bloob. This is our pathetic condition. Winning in India is not a big deal, bcoz here the tracks have nothing against bowlers and they donot test our Indian batsmen. SO naturally here in home we are lions whereas we are meek lambs. Losing is not the issue, but losing pathetically without any fight or not learning from mistakes committed earlier is very bad. Dhoni uses tactics which work in Indian conditions, but he tries to follow the same outside and started to fail. Guys like Raina who doesn't know to play short pitch bowling looks like a meek lamb for slaughter. It has been more than 8 eight years since his debut and he has showed no signs of improvement. There are also other similar kind of cases in the team. So this is the story of the future of the team, where they will start losing to each and every team in future even to non - regular teams

ajay bathire, your point noted -

england are meek lambs outside while they are tigers in home conditins. as u correctly observe they are no. 1 team in name only. they do have batsmen and bowlers who can do well outside england. like u say just 2 months ago they were being hailed as the best team in the world. now it is clear how good they really are...

all that their bowlers are good at is allow india playing without sachin, sehwag, yuvraj, to make 300 runs after being 112 for 4 after about 30 overs...then again in the next match allow them to win by 8 wickets...

their batsmen also showed how pathetic they are after getting out for 174 and 237 on flat indian wickets...

They are not the top team in ODIs. They are top in test cricket. When an team like Aus, SA come to India for playing a series, when don't expecct win against them with whitewash. We have seen very very few that kind of total dominating performances in tests or ODIs by India. They dont surrender meekly. INdian team has been surrendering meekly to teams fromt time to time in their foreign tours. Only once in a ages they have given a fight or won few series outside. Winning or losing happens, but if u lose pathetically or still don't learn ur mistakes from earlier ur doomed. Look at Raina, he is good in Indian conditions, but on boucy pitches against short bowling he is pathetic, he has not shown any signs of improvement. We can look at new guys who can show the temperment of playing all types of condition. If he is failing on foreign bouncy pitches why the selectors are still selecting him. WHy not go for a new guy and groom him. Another pathetic example is Munaf Patel. Look at his fielding and look at the commitment of Mcgrath who even at the age of 37-38 used to put an effort in the fielding and try to save. Guys like Munaf think that their job is only to bowl and not to do anything else. And we have the selectors who are select this kind of players or guys like these donot try to improve their game. SO dont u think it is pathetic compared to other country teams

aus eng sa have a long way to go before they can be called top teams. they have a pathetic record outside their country. if they are such good teams as you think they should be able to play in all conditions. they cant do that. that is why these 3 are pathetic teams. they have rarely ever dominated world cricket. if aus got some good victories it was only because most teams at that time played bad cricket not because aus played good cricket. they were below their normal level hence aus could win for some years. otherwise they were very weak team. steve waugh could not win against ganguly's india even in aus. they lost in india. ganguly's indian team defeated them 2-1 in india. in one test we even defeated them following on. and you want to call this team no. 1? what a joke! waugh could not even defeat us in aus. there they escaped barely by the skin of their teeth. because of parthiv's bad keeping they got away with a draw otherwise they would lost in aus also. similarly ponting lost each and every test he captained against india in india. in one mumbai test they even managed to lose in 2 and half days. must be a record! i dont think in the history of test cricket any team lost a test in lesser time. even without seniors dhoni defeated ponting's aus when they were supposed to be no. 1 odi team. same happened in 2011 wc. they lost to india. dhoni's indian team defeated ponting's aus team 4 times out of 4! and according to you they are a dominating team!! haha ha joker!

dumazz, SA crumbles if you just say the word spin. Aus was the only one even remotely capable of putting up a fight.

Yes they are weak against spin. No doubt. But my question is look at the performances of foreign teams on Indian soil, and Indian performances on their soil. WHo has surrendered more meekly. India has suffered lot of domination in the series. Aussies came and won the ODI's quite a few times, whereas India has won a ODI triangular once in 30 years. Even India has not won a test series against SA for quite some time. Thos teams have won outside their homes. They have dominated other teams on foreign soils.
Just give some example where India has won quite dominantly outside. U will find it very few. Best example was during the last test series in Windies, the last match India where they needed to chased 180 odd runs in 45 - 50 overs. there India needed remaining 85 from 15 overs with over 7 wickets in hand. Indian team played safe and agreed for a draw with the WIndies. They could have tried for a win there. They didnt. As India had already won a match there, so to keep series safe they agreed for a draw. This shows the negative game plan of Indians. There are few more examples.

By your logic, we should have beaten them comprehensively in India, since in India we are supposed to have spinner friendly tracks

I am sorry, but did you just call Dravid and Kumble as not superstar ? Oh nice !

Guess the 3rd highest wicket taker in the world is not considered a superstar

Guess the 2nd highest run scorer is not considered a superstar

by D S on Oct 18, 2011 04:06 PM  | Hide replies

he survived few times.

yadav though the faster on indian side at 88 miles an hour was slower than finn in pace and variation though he was effective.

Jadeja was hit by peitersen for 2 six needs to buckle up. samit Patel hit spinners as well.

the two openers bore the brunt...
