This is one question worring me. We have thefastest bowler in India sitting n the dressing room. Time has come to play Varun Arron in place of praveen of vinay.
Can we now tell all the non-sense English greats wrote when Indians were losing in England.
1. Indians were under-prepared. Now what about England? 2. Indians didn't have the hunger to win. Yes We can see in England's face now. 3. There are 1 or 2 donkeys in Indian team. I hope Naseer has seen yesterday's match.
I don't remember the other points. Someone please comment, if you have any other points

If I am right, they showed the press box on the TV (at the Kotla stadium), during the match. Mostly the english journos were shown that time. May be they are "searching" for the "donkeys".... I am sure Indian team saved many a boundary, diving near the 30 yeard circle whereas the Englishmen didn't make a full-fledged effort to even dive, leave alone saving the boundary....
This English team also can bounce back, the way Indians did.
Let us not write off any team just because of poor performance in few matches.
And the media (read British media) should stop "naming" visitors in their columns.

Did Geoff Boycott say that his grandma can hook the bouncer of an Indian paceman? Wish she comes and helps this English team.....

Hari what he meant was thAt There is no such Thing as Indian Pacemen.India since 1932 has only Fast Spinners like Venktesh Prasad or Mohanty or Kuruvilla or Dodda Ganesh.Boycott was just making fun of Glorious Indian Fast Bowling Tradition.

it doesn't matter, you only need match winners. Kapil Dev, Venkatesh Prasad, Srinath, Manoj Prabhakar, Amarnath, R Binny, etc are match winners
GANGULY LUCKY CAPTAIN, DHONI COOL AND GREAT CAPTIAN. GANGULY - GOT SACHIN AS PARTNER, MOST OF THE MATCHES WON BY SACHIN. DHONI - YOUNG TEAM AND ACHIEVED GOOD RESULTS.

Both ganguly & dhoni are politician who always flopped in overseas & pressure situation as a player. Always rode on success of other great players like sachin, dravid, laxman, sehwag, kumble, zaheer, yuvi, bhajji, kohli etc. But I agree as a player ganguly was better than dhoni. Dhoni is simply a flat track bulley & manipulator who knows how to survive in indian condition.

Both are good. Gangu is great, dhoni can only be compared with gangu at the end of dhonis career.

@ Silver Mani
Will you stand by your statement even if England wins the next 3 ODIs?
In India, we are quite emotional. Last month, around this time, the team was criticized for the poor performance in England. Within a month, the same team had become the Greatest Indian Team......

SR Hari, it is a great team as long as it keeps winning, or else people term it the worst. That is the spirit of Indian cricket...... :( And regarding this team, it is good on home soil. It is too early to term it the best without testing in conditions like Australia/NZ & South Africa. And by the way, it looks like a good team because our bowling dept is faring very well to dismiss the opposition. If by chance our bowlers fail again, we will be back to the "paper tigers" phrase..... I hope that does not happen again....!

@ Matte
I am with you. While I am not jumping the guns in calling this team the best or paper tigers, I was taking a dig at those who quickly change their opinions based on the performance over a period of few weeks.
Coming to the present team, especially the bowling department, it is time that youngsters like Vinay, Umesh, Varun are nurtured right now even if it costs us the series. I am sure Vinay's morale would have gone up after his consistency yesterday in line and length. Even if he fails in the next match, give him chance the whole series. Umesh Yadav is another prospect for us. He is generating pace too. He was almost above 140K. We are yet to see Varun at Intl level. These are the boys who will have to take over from the Zaks, Munafs. Ashwin is also quickly settling down to replace Bhajji in the long term. Same way, give good opportunities to Rahul to see whether he can take over from Amit Mishra and play along with Piyush Chawla.
Ajankya can take over slowly from Viru. We have the Virats, Rainas to take over from Sachins, Yuvis.
We need to develop bowling all rounders like Jadeja, who can contribute with a quick fire 40, 50 coming in after the 40th over.
Grooming for 2015 should start right away. I think we have made a beginning.

You are right Hari..... I understood and support your view. As you say, if we are to target 2015 WC, we should start from 2011 only.

It is good abroad too as long as it has got its bowlers back from injury. But that is where BCCI screws up big time.
