Unni, Dont go gaga over swamy. While he may be credited for digging out and pursuing corrupt people, he himself is guilty of covering up many cases for a consideration. He bargains/blackmails corrupt people first and cuts a deal and closes the chapter. many examples can be cited.
echoing the wel-being of game of cricket - need of the hour - battery of fast bowlers like wesley hall & charles griffit of west indies for each state team - along with good number of spinners like the quartet of prasanna, bedi, venkat & chandra of India- also a strong openners like gavasker & sachin of India followed by one down batsman like viswanath & vengsarkar & azharuddin of India & rohan khannai & kallicharan of west indies - task is difficult but not impossible - jai hind
Always admired Kumble as a player. Definitely one of the greatest match winners for India. But the current situation does look a bit suspicious. Its quite clear that there is a conflict of interest, which Kumble may or may not have made use of yet. And his constant argument that if he was a businessman he would have gone after big international stars does not look too convincing either. Most international players would look at more established names to look after their commercial interests. Just because Sachin has played with you doesn't mean that he would put you in charge of his commercial interests. It would anyway make more commercial sense for a small company like Tenvic to go for younger emerging players. Also suspicious is the fact that two out of three players under Tenvic getting into the Indian team despite not so great performances and the other one into the Green team.
When it comes to money (plus he turned 40 - they get cranky), all are no saints - How come out of 3 employees - 2 of them found in Indian team Sreenath Arvind , Vinay Kumar - both horribe and one Gautham into Indian Green (we know how did in 3 matches)! Talk about 100% selection ! So what other talent has he recruited ?
anil kumble is a decent gentleman! he can shoulder higher responsibilities outside or besides cricklet and can succeed fairly well. he is more respected than several other national figures on politics.
