This is no revenge at all
by LOL on Oct 13, 2011 07:54 AM  | Hide replies

Revenge is when you visit England and beat them at their backyard. Back here you prepare pitches where the ball just rises to the toe level. You pack the team with 10 batsmen and no one has a chance to pick wickets in such conditions. So the team that scores 400 runs will beat the other team by 10-15 runs...every one day will see 700 being runs scored with all the bowlers being bashed black and blue.

In england you see wickets prepared to their liking. So whats new ? England needs to be able to play and win in these conditions to be a top team and also No 1. Or is it that it applies only to india.

Why Duncan Fletcher is still the coach? What is that he bringing into team India? He should have been sacked.

Why do u want our team to become "arrogant"?? Being humble (a.k.a. "Losing", as per YOUR dictionary) is quite good for their character

Nice words ...
by Arv Singh on Oct 12, 2011 09:06 PM  | Hide replies

You can say big words like "revenge", "Purest Emotion" and "Redemption" but reality looks so different. The England team is an experienced side and came early to play warm-up games to climatize themselves to the Indian conditions. They have a formidable batting line-up and a balanced bowling attach.

Compared to them, the Indian look like a bunch of inexperienced players clobbered together with aging veterans to make up a team.

Indian captain has lost his wining ways and he needs to let someone else take the leadership role. How much of his past success can be attributed to master genius of Gary Kirsten? Dhoni has failed as a leader in England tour and failed again with his "All Star" team CSK not even able to make to the semifinals. Dhoni's escape route was that he appreciates the break due to early exit from CLT20 XI .. huh? His own performance as wicketkeeper was atrocious and India may be looking for a replacement wicketkeeper very soon.

He has one last chance to save his reputation against England at home. But without Zaheer, Yuvraj, Tendulkar, and Harbhajan, it is going to be an uphill task.

He has six inexperienced bowlers in the team and from what I have seen, S Aravind, Vinay Kumar, and Varun Aron should not even be in the team. But who cares about performance .. right?

This might be the watershed for Indian cricket. With the players selected, the team is doomed to fail. I wonder if we will see a repeat of the 1996 WC semis, where fans took to throwing stuff at the Indian team???

Dhonis recent winning record is unmatched......even in IPL/CLT20....Regardless of your opinions FACTS will not change. He is the winning captain in the world in recent history - Won T20 world cup, ODI Cup and Test No.1....All goals achieved.

RA, rightly said. Regardless of your opinion, FACTS WILL NOT CHANGE. Won World cup, 2 months later struggled to win against #8 spot West Indies, lost all standards in England.... If there was SOME talent in him, we would not see such a drastic change in fortunes. Dhoni is the epitome of luck and fluke. Thats all :)
And i am not surprised atyour reply when u say "Dhoni's recent winning record". Dont u see that it is a team of 11 players? If u credit wins to Dhoni, also please credit the losses to him. When there is a victory, u want to credit Dhoni for that. When we lose, it is the team effort :)
Simply WOW....!

You said everything that I wanted to. Couldn't agree more!! All Indian fans shouldn't be surprised if Team India gets whitewashed again but this will be worse as it will be IN India. :( Sadly, I have no hope for current Team India. They might have a point to prove but there is no chance of revenge and nothing can be expected from the line-up selected.

All media hype ...
by SekharaM on Oct 12, 2011 08:00 PM  | Hide replies

This is all media hype .. Indian team is incapable of playing with passion.. they only play for money. They give all their best in IPL because if they miss a match, they lose money.
This team will at best win a match or two and then the media will jump in and start gloating over the greatness of Dhoni, Bhajji, Gambhir etc.
This report is not even worth reading in full.

How can a team think of winning after being thrashed in a manner that has not been witnessed by Indian cricket in last 40 years? The best thing to do is to play with positive mind & try your best.Media should stop creating this impression of revenge series which sounds very cliche.
