I wanted to bowl alongside Harbhajan'
by New Jersey on Oct 13, 2011 10:36 AM  | Hide replies

I like this when Kumble was there 'Kumble and harbhajan duo' did well at the indian tracks and also abroad. If rahul does well and he thinks he needs help than there is chance of bhajji getting a chance.

Vinay Kumar is a waste of time and space. No pace, no swing (even in england), no yorker. Cant bat, cant field. Why is he selected?

All depends on the variety he has

Can you bowl fast in the air like Warne, Murali?
Can you generate high turn?
can you generate a deceptive wrong one?
in simple words, do u idolise Warne, Murali or do u idolise Bishen sigh bedi.? If latter , you are just another M Karthik, Mishra, Bhajji

One thing to remember, Warne's first Test match against India in Australia where he took 1 wkt for 206 runs.He got trained after that to become a legand. Can anybody deny that.Murali Karthik is one of the best left arm spinners india produced. Infact he was not used well by India.I still remember he played a series against Aussies and rattled them up with 4 wkts when they were chasing 102 in mumbai. He is one of the best spin bowlers, not interested to be utilized by Dada or Dravid. Now Ohja comes into the picture ,not being used effectively. If you compare Harbhajan and Mishra , M Karthick is far far better than them in technique and compare the number of opportunities given to him to prove himself.Abhinav Mukund scored a Century in practice game in England ,he was dropped from test team after that match. If Muralidharan though from Tamil origin played for TN ,he might not have crossed Ranji trophy citing his bowling action. Politics plays a huge role here in selection.Selectors keep selecting new players to warmup bench. Can anybody say no ? First select players, train them for big league, give them opportunities to prove,if they dont fit in then move them off.Can you say how many opportunities Badrinath got when compared to Raina or Kohli? How many chances Pujara got when he was in good form ?

Rahul Sharma

From what I've seen of him in the last IPL he should do well. He would have done better in England's bouncy pitches and cold weather. Let's see whether he has big match temperament.
