Ignore the top order failures, all is well for Australia ! The Border Gavaskar Trophy would have few thorns in Laxman and Dravid but those are the only ones. Indian cricket team selection has never been looking at future. At this point, we do not have a Wicket keeping replacement, we do not have a replacement for Zaheer, we do not have a replacement for Sehwag / Gambir Opening and we haven\'t found a replacement for Kumble. Infact, no replacment since 1995 for for the great man Kapil Dev. Money can bring people to fame but their real intent and quality exposed time and again
Flayed? Seriously? Sehwag just stated the obvious and this is how he speaks bluntly and in a matter of fact tone always, irrespective of defeat or victory. Calling a dismissal soft is flaying a batsman?

OUr cricketers are master media manipulators, master promters, master personal campaigners - irrespective of whether they are masters in their own trade! So its not unusual....
well like sehwag said there were just the two balls which were wicket taking. the main culprits were Gambhir and parthiv. gambhir should be reprimanded for being so casual. he's repeating the same mistake again and again. heady fool really!
The basic mistake of team selection was accomplished by Srikkanth and Company at the behest of Srinivasan. It was fully justified decision to rest the overworked Dhoni.
But it is funny, to put it mildly, to even remotely think about selecting Parthiv Patel or W Saha as the replacement.
Dinesh Karthik has done remarkably well in the few opportunities given to him to play for India, did well in IPL for DD and KXIP.
Why is he being continuouly ignored? Is he failing to fall at the feet of mighty Srinivasan?
If Karthik would have been selected, the usual and established opening pair of Sehwag - Gambhir can be retained and Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Raina will follow. Karthik will then bat at No.6 and can improve the fortunes of the team in the middle order, than the likes of Patel who count for precious little either at the top or in the middle.
I agree with Sehwag that while chasing a formidable total of a little over 200 at a asking rate of a fraction over 4, batsmen do get bewildered, dizzy and shaky. If Sehwag did not contribute the magnificent century that he did, overshadowing the performances of Rohit Sharma (returning to team India - who remembers - may be after several months) and Ravindra Jadeja (how dare this little obscure one from the unheard of Saurashtra contribute so regularly with bat and ball in ODIs for India?), India would have indeed been in deep distress.
Hats of to Sehwag, continue to blaze with your tongue, forget the bat!

sehwag should realise that he and his batsmen have not committed any mistakes. they are just batsmen of very lesser caliber compared to batsmen of other cricket playing nations. we have always seen indian team failed under pressure. our team is just an ordinary team starting from the days of sunil gavaskar to sachin tendulkar. our batsmen are all playing cards. that is why they are never approached by bookies to throw their wickets. one good fast bowler in the opposition team, our batsmen will start trembling with fear and run to latrine. whatever training give to them, they are just of very lesser calibre. they just know blaming the selectors when not getting a chance, but when chances are given repeatedly fail to show any consistent performance. you agree or not does not matter. we are just blind fans of our lesser calibre cricketeers.
