DIFFICULT TO ACCEPT SUCH INJURIES
by damodaran mohan on Nov 29, 2011 05:09 PM

Players dropping out from playing venue just the day before play on injury grounds is difficult to digest. If I remember correctly P Kumar had pulled out from the WI series also from playing WI venue under similar circumstances and returned to India all the way back.Is there something more to it than what meets the eye ?

Praveen's mysterious injury
by SHANE on Nov 29, 2011 01:22 AM  | Hide replies

When Dhoni decided to take a rest, Praveen start hitting his chest that's how he got that injury, so the ultimate goal is he don't want to play under sehwag. This team has groups within the team and dhoni is responsible for it. I am not a great fan of Sehwag either since at presentation ceremony of WC Final, he jump in collecting medal by completely ignore the name (I forgot whose name Ravi Shastri called first, but for sure it was not sehwag) called by presenter Ravi Shastri which shows huge ego and lack of team spirit of this man.

Shane, if Dhoni is responsible for the groups within the team why dont you write a novel on that? You can get quite a few buyers for that :)

.
It is really good news. No need to play front line bowlers with West Indies.

It is really good chance to give opportunity to new talent like Aaron, Umesh and lot more.

Who knows they might do better than Praveen?

Experience matterss

I think Irfan would have been given a chance,If we are looking at the speed guns Vinay Kumar clocks the same.considering we have fast bowlers in Umesh,Varun,Mithun who are relativly young to the international cricket, inclusion of Irfan would have lend much needed experience.I think he is good enough player to be in the team and he has experience of leading the attack.
I am not even trying to bend my stress on his batting.

How?

A Blunt Chest trauma is a pretty serious injury - mostly the result of an automotive accident. 10% cases lead to fatality. How did Praveen Kumar land up with this trauma?

Team is selected on the basis of ranji performance where irfan has picked up 2 five wickets hauls in four innings in ongoing ranji so he deserves a chance and mithun has failed badly.

Teams in india are selected on the basis of ranji performance where Irfan has picked 2 five wickets hauls in 4 innings and as far as speed goes parveen is also in the same bracket

So what loserVaidya if Praveen has played almost all his ODIs under Dhoni? It is not the reason for the bowler's success..... I am sure Praveen is not a bootlicker of dhoni like u r.....

dhoni's fans are NOT his bootlickers...and i never claimed dhoni is the reason for his success...he is a good bowler whoever may be the captain...though of course i doubt how many other captains will extract the best out of him...

Jiju, does it not surprise you that nearly all players who play under him, whether experienced or inexperienced, senior or junior have all only good things to say about him and also they perform best under him as compared to when they play under somebody else...

Dear Vaidya (calling u "dear" just for formality), not all fans are his bootlickers...... There are quite a few realtime bootlickers in this forum, which includes your highness :)
If Dhoni extracted the best out of Praveen, then did he extract the worst out of the failed seniors in England like Sachin & Laxman? :)
And all players have to say good things to say in front of the media. When asked by media "How is Dhoni as a captain?", any player has to reply "He is the best captain I have ever played, blah blah". It is a protocol followed in the media.

i believe its easy to criticize someone's achievement without realising what it takes to reach there. i dont think Sachin tendulkar will ever comment on your professional success so would rather suggest you to do a self introspection before commenting on sport person contribution. Not that i am a huge fan of tendulkar, it should be noted that 99 hundreds mean 9900 runs of contribution to indian cricket. so better be respectful of people's achievement.
