This team is still gelling together, it will take time...

The 2nd ODI against WI just finished by there are some worries and concerns. First the guaranteed wicket of Parthiv Patel that the opposition seems to be getting. Actually the wicket of Sehwag also is a certainty early. As a result the solid starts are missing and it would be better if Parthiv can just bat down the order.

The problem with this is Kohli does not like the #3 spot as compared to the #4. I think he can adjust with the form he is in.

The bigger worry is, unless they bowl exceptionally well in the future the economy rate of Vinay, Aaron and Umesh are around 5-5.67 and no where near what Zaheer and Munaf can maintain in the one-dayers.

The future seems like for ODIs India needs a bowler in between pace and accuracy and the craftiness of Zaheer and Munaf. None of that is prevalent in the new crop. So we have to wait and see how Aaron and Yadav turn out in the 1-dayers in the sub-continent in particular.

Weak Side?
by Think Again on Nov 29, 2011 01:41 PM  | Hide replies

How did India become second string just because Dhoni is rested? Rest of the 10 guys are the ones who are regular in India ODI set up.. I keep hearing good oppurtunity for Youngsters but it has been the case for quiet sometime.. they have to perform. I see a player becomes more important when he is not the squad?

Dhoni and Sachin rested.
Zaheer, Yuvraj, Praveen unfit.

5 out of 11 players who played in the World Cup finals are not playing.

Sachin was never regular in ODI setup for last few years. Praveen did not play ODIs with England.Yuvraj and Dhoni I can understand

Praveen was very much a part of the Indian team which beat England at home in the ODI series.

Just because he has performed well against west indies, that doesn't mean that he is more dependable bowler than bajji. His true colour will be exposed in the upcoming Aussies tour!!!Bhajji is 100% better crickter than ashwin

Even if ashwin has better variation!!!!??? he is incomparable with Bhajji. No doubt about that.Ashwin has to prove his ablities to take wickets on flat tracks and not on a spinner friendly.Let the assuie series begin!!! his weakness will be exposed!!
