Where is Sunil Vaidya? I dont see any post of his..... Did Dhoni stop giving money to Vaidya for publicity? Or has Vaidya drunk too much as usual?

BOTHAM NOWHERE CLOSE TO DHONI
by prajyoth pradeep on Nov 28, 2011 01:07 PM  | Hide replies

Botham did not have a sharp cricketing brain like Dhoni.
He was neither a good man manager who was loved by his teammates. Dhoni is both a great leader and a great man manager whose team mates have a lot of respect for Him. He has the sharpest cricketing brain ever, best ever in the history of the game.
Also he is gifted with rare batting abilities. He can play spin and fast bowling very well. He can hit yorkers out of the ground, great runner and athlete. If he had played at no.3 or no.4 he would have had a much higher batting average (still his Odi batting avg. is 50 plus!) but since our team's batting is so strong he has had come down the order for his team. Also he can take batting to any gear to suit the situation of the game.
Also he has proved he is the greatest ever captain by handling different sets of teams with all types and ages of players - young T20 teams, highly experienced test teams, moderately experienced One-day teams, even in teams having Foreign players like the IPL! He has handled them all!
One can't just say that he has very good players under him. We have to recognise that he is a great captain.
So Mr. Barley go waste someone else's time.

This india boss outsider can praise to one of us but among us only can not digest this....what to say if people are not able to see consistent performance at no 6 in batting and as cpatian all experts like gavaskar shastri, kapil and for that matter any cricket expert parise Dhoni. This showing the people's mindset.

are you insane? dhoni has no brains at all...we have won matches in the past with other captains as well (sehwag, raina)...and watch out for the next ODI series with west indies...you will find out and I will be proved right that Dhoni's presence or absence makes no difference at all to the Indian cricket team's cause...india will under sehwag as well...Dhoni is really very USELESS and like I have said before he is a FREERIDER

even in series agianst NZL- gambhir was captain & india won 5-0.
Dhoni presence makes no difference.
He is simply lucky to captain more homne series & thats why more win.
Every captain perform well in india & looses oversease. same is true with dhoni also.
In oiverseas test he has lost 7 & won 5 only.
Not won a single overseas series against team like SLK/SA/Eng/Aus & whitewashe agianst England. Even won only 1-0 against WI weak team.
He is simply lucky & overhyped by media.
His captaincy was best seen in england when india was under pressure. Looked captain fool

Foolish and dishonest statement to make....absurd
by rajkamal dubey on Nov 28, 2011 11:22 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni is flourishing because of luck and the fact that advertisers have invested a lot money in creating him as a brand icon (however idiotic there choice was)...these same corporate entities have paid Brearley to make this statement to keep the Dhoni hype alive...Dhoni is probably the greatest FREE-RIDER of all times...he has very noteworthy performances but benefitting because of the presence of other greats in the team

I agree Dubeyji.... Brearley says he hasnt seen Dhoni's captaincy for a long period of time. I wonder what Indian cricket he has seen to say Dhoni is similar to Botham.
If Dhoni and Botham could "single handedly win matches for their country", were the 10 other players useless? :)
Was Botham's fielding so bad that he should be compared to Dhoni and say he is an "all rounder"? This definitely looks like a paid article.....

nobody is pefect and Dhoni is no different..but compared to all other captains Dhoni is the best because he is cool..take out dhoni you have a mess of talented and headless team. India needs Dhoni if we want to win matches..

Yes dhoni was captain in england & india was white washed in all format.
India was out in 2009 & 2010 T-20 wcup in 1st round. Dhoni was captain.
Gambhir was captain & india won NZL ODI series 5-0.
Dravid was captain & india won test series in england.
Don';t give fake logic mr venugopal to justify dhoni presence.
On merit he never desarve a place in test & T-20 intnl

Captaan Dhoni best
by shin chan on Nov 28, 2011 09:57 AM  | Hide replies

He is brave captaan, as cool as a penguin. he has got own techniqueue as batman and keeper, but the beauty is his bat, glove, and match result all reach the right place at right time. so that is what matter. so he is no book to read with good spellcheck n right grammar but he the man the machine as he greatest in fitness. he is good reader of pitch, match situation, nimble, humble, slippery, etc. he is the one n only the gr8 captaan of all time MSDhoni. he is so precious that his worth is not known to any indian but 2 every opposition, mind it. he can make a decent team out of bunch of this forum jokers anytime.

Few of recent Dhoni credential as a captain:
1)shameful exit in 1st round of T20 wcup 2009 & 2010 after loosing all matches
2)shameful 1st round exit in ICC cup 2009 after loosing all matches
3)shameful 2-4 loss against Aus B team at home soil 2009
4)Loss 2-4 against same Aus in ODI series last time in 2007
5) shameful defeat in Asia cup final 2009
6) Shameful defeat in Triangular series in Bangladesh final.
7)Shameful defeat in 3rd ODI against SA when sachin/sehwag rested
8)Shameful inning defeat in 1st test match against SA in India when dravid/laxman not played due to injury.
9)Loss by an inning against SLK & SA in 1st test of series overseas
10)Loss against last SA ODI series 2-3. ( Ideal score would been 0-5 but luck favoured in two matches).
11) Whitewash in England in all format of game loosing test 0-4, ODI 0-3 & t-20 0-1.
12) CSK at bottom of table in CL T-20. All matches lost due to slow batting of dhoni

Dhoni as a player
1)Less than 100 strike rate in T20.
Responsible for all losses in 2nd T20 wcup as couldn’t strike the ball at crucial moment in all 3 matches.
2)Less than 40 avg in Test with No match winning /saving inning in test in entire career.
No overseas hundred (outside subcontinent) in test match against quality attack.
3)Inflated ODI avg in ODI due to no. of not out innings & manipulated batting position taking advantage of captaincy. Played very few match winning inning that also always on flat Indian wi

Botham , Sobers are Greatest
by Rohini on Nov 28, 2011 09:42 AM  | Hide replies

Botham and Sobers are the Greatest all rounders.
Our Dhoni no where near them. Just winning against minnows and the "Fixed" world Cup by BCCI can not make him no where near Great.

I think Botham was the best
by anand datar on Nov 28, 2011 08:46 AM

Botham was the best al1 rounder in the world of cricket during his era. Kapil and Richard Hadley were very good in bowling but not that authoritative in batting. But Botham was equally very good in batting as well as bowling. Garry Sobers was the all time best all rounder.

Please do not send Dhoni for toss even if he is a captain. Please send someone else.
He has lost almost every toss now and had put into a big risk of loosing the Bombay match.
He is termed as greatest toss looser India has ever produced

Great!
by Jiju on Nov 28, 2011 05:26 AM  | Hide replies

Mike Brearley, what a great person to comment!
He has quite a few similarities to our captain, mediocre average in test matches (22 to be precise), kept wickets, had great people in the team like Bob Willis, David Gower & Ian Botham at their peak, etc.
And in 1979 WC final, Geoff Boycott & Brearly lead England to a loss by using 38 overs and scoring just 129 runs.
Brearly and Botham have a philosophy of "I scratch ur back, u scratch mine" when it comes to praising each other......
And if he has not seen Dhoni's captaincy for a long period of time, has he seen Indian cricket sine 2006/07?
This looks like a paid article at its best :)
