On a flat track, the WI batting did what India does normally to other visiting teams.
But this Test was meant to check Varun out. He delivered the fastest ball in the series at 91.4 mph and was 3-104. This looks very promising as both Yadav and Varun are quick enough for India to regain the number 1 spot in Tests and ODIs.
So the selection for the Oz tour, Aaron has to make it because he can hit 92-93 mph in Australia. The inclusion of Praveen Kumar for the Test series in Australia should be on hold since Sreesanth has more pace and experience.
With Zaheer back in the squad, India should go with a 4 prong pace attack of
Zaheer, Ishant, Yadav and Varun.
The average pace should be about 139 kph higher than anytime before, and we expect varun to do better than the 4th bowler who is typically a spinner.
Never take a run if the ball has not gone of the bat. That means, no leg-byes. Thus, those poor souls known as the 'umpires' shall be relieved of the agony of standing on one leg to signal the leg-bye.
